Re: Where are you going tonight?
Nope, the three rezzies walk and a pub lunch with Big Bro accounted for most of it. Time very well spent indeed.Gooner Girl wrote:That took you all day?!Bruce Rioja wrote:I've just picked the steamy demon thing from Lil' Bro's. Such a good walk that... 12 miles? Certainly the outer limit for me... I love it... esp 'the dell' between Wayoh and Entwistle... lovely woodland...Bruce Rioja wrote:Nope, the three rezzies walk and a pub lunch with Big Bro accounted for most of it. My word - how this wallpaper stripping malarky takes longer than one budgets for. Was actually booked in to play two rounds of golf today and played neither. That said, tomorrow is now free for Our Kid and I to nip up to Cumbria and take on Grizedale Pike. The tidying up operation will have to wait until Friday. In return though, I've promised that Our Kid's boys can stay at mine on Saturday night because he's working. So, parent types, help me here. Frankie and Bennie's is nailed on, but then what? Is there owt on at the flicks that's worth taking them to? (They're 7 and 9 btw)William the White wrote:Such a good walk that... 12 miles? Certainly the outer limit for me... i hate Wanky & Bennies, always terrible food, service and value.
not sure there is much on at the flicks tho for their ages - new Spiderman is a 12A i think, MIB3 is a PG. fast girls is meant to be ok byt probably not much interest to them? but by all acccounts you should definitely avoid Top Cat!

take them on a night-hike with torches round the 3 rezzies... light a fire and tell ghost stories in the garden...Bruce Rioja wrote: My word - how this wallpaper stripping malarky takes longer than one budgets for. Not so sure about the ghost stories but am sure they'd remember a night hike with Uncle Bruce far more then a trip to the cinema!

Night hike's a great call. I can still remember getting taken on one by Our Skip when I was a cub
Three rezzies might be a bit far though, bish

Re: Where are you going tonight?
Yes, that would be too far! Must be somewhere nearer that you know well and coming back home to hot chocolate and marshmallows would make it even more fun. My dad used to take iron rations (chocolate) on walks to motivate us. Get them to bring their torches as bish said, and make sure you don't lose either of them!Bruce Rioja wrote:Night hike's a great call. Not somewhere to go for a holiday, but Blackpool Pleasure Beach would probably keep them amused for as long as you a) still have money and b) can stand the fecking place.Bruce Rioja wrote:Night hike's a great call. I can still remember getting taken on one by Our Skip when I was a cub

If you head over to somewhere like the Trafford, there's a Lego discovery centre, two crazy golf courses, laser-quest, climbing walls etc. all fairly near the Cinema (there's also the "arcade" on the way out)
Driving range might keep 'em occupied for a while.

I might take them round to their Uncle Capslock's for a quick game of knock-a-door-runGooner Girl wrote:Yes, that would be too far! Belting idea re- the hot choccy and marshmallows, GG. Thanks for that - I'd never have thought of anything like it.
Me not losing either will be entirely behaviour related

Re: Where are you going tonight?
Worthy - If I take them anywhere near anything golf-ish then I'll morph into the avuncular version of The Fast Show's Competitive Dad
General - If you're going up to the duck for a nosebag, then regardless of whatever it is that you're having, have some chips too. Outstanding!
