I'm happy tonight as I've just been sitting next to Usain Bolt in a London (Heathrow) restaurant, we were both waiting for our takeaways. He is one BIG fella!

What did he have? Hopefully nothing that gave him the runs

Re: Today I'm happy about......
Im amused by the fact that whilst the "Today I'm angry about...." thread is updated several times a day every day, this thread goes days without any of you miserable bar stewards counting your blessings!
Anyways, today I'm happy about 2 things.
1. My youngest has reached the grand age of 16 and he's a great lad of whom I'm really proud
2. I've had the morning off with above son and my Spaniel who loves it that his dad is home and has spent all morning bringing a selection of things for me to throw into the garden for him to fetch.
The above 2 may however be slightly dampened by the fact that I now have to drive to Barrow in Furness (Or 1974 as it's known) for an evening meeting

Not having anything to be angry about ('cept the weather of course, but that doesn't count)

Halle-fecking-lujah! The sun has just come out. Must be at least two weeks since it last made any effort.

Finally got a pic (not very brilliant) of our resident bullfinch. Titania - one of those who know birds - tells me the other is a greenfinch. Tons of goldfinches and bluetits about right now. Regular aviary our house, witnessed by the amount spent on birdseed. Lovely little things though.

My new journey home from work takes me over this bridge (Shaldon Bridge over the Teign estuary) - it is a stunning view.. (photo doesn't really do it justice)

wider view...

and then up a steep and windy cliff-road with awesome views of labrador bay

(not my photos - else the horizon would be straight!!

ahh - you're up with the local bird rarities! not yet - but you can see them from just about the place where that last photo was taken - out over labrador bay...Montreal Wanderer wrote:Seen any of those rare cirl buntings yet?

it's certainly on my list! (apparently easier to spot in winter when there is less greenery for them to hide in!)

When I saw a Canadian discussing Labrador Bay with an Englishman I did fear some confusion.Montreal Wanderer wrote:
