Some truly joy invoking voices, Bryn Terfel, Placido Domingo and Rolando Villazon, Hayley Westenra and Jonathon Ansell, Russel Watson ( Nessun Dorma), Jose Carreras,( Granada) Opera Babes ( One Fine Day) etc. Right now Hayley Westenra and Jonathon Ansell singing Un Giorno per Noi (a time/day for us?) better known as the love theme from Romeo and Juliet. Quite delightful. I'm so chilled I could slide off the chair in a puddle.

Prompted by a Trotters thread, I had a run theough a few Fleetwood Mac items on youtube, Tango in the night, Gypsy etc, then the Tango mode had me over to Hank Marvin's Guitar Tango (the accoustic version), which led onto Classical Gas, which in turn had me back to the late sixties Mason Williams original. Now I'm off to find Asturias (la leyenda) and other such guitar classics.

WTW might just appreciate this. No wonder Segovia called the guitar a one-man-orchestra. This is my beloved Asturias, the one piece above all others I'd love to play.....if only.

Have you ever visited Asturias? Land of cider and famous blue cheeses and coal mines and hills and deep valleys and rain - sounds like a sort of Spanish Wales?
I never have, but always wanted to - did some post grad work on Asturias in the 1930s in the days when I wanted to be a historian... (bit of me still does, but getting too old for it

No, never have. Seen Barcelona, Granada, Seville, Ronda, Cartagena and quite a few Costa resorts but never there. Spain is a fascinating land behind the hype and stereotype and its music is divine. I did once drive there and back across France and over the Pyrenees, and that was a sightseeing tour par excellence.William the White wrote:Just stunning, Tango...
