What are you playing tonight?

Tango - if you've not done Madrid and Cordoba, you've just got to put that right... i think Cordoba even - just - beats Sevilla, and that's hard...

Never fancied Madrid (although I always went somewhere else rather than avoided it) but I used Coroba as a centre for my Sword of Saldin novel so I researched it quite thoroughly geographically. Bit difficult estimating how long it would take to get there from Granada on horseback.

Bit of a long ride, that one - and still feckin hard by train now, I think... Cordoba may be my favourite Spanish city... the one we went to for our 20th wedding anniversary celebrations...

A newly aquired double CD, Ella Fitzerald GOLD. This is a pure bliss listen. All the great works of Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Rodgers and Hart etc. Manhatten, A fine Romance, Blue Moon, The Very Thought of You, I only have eyes for you, Small Hotel, Misty, I Love Paris, Let's Face the Music and Dance etc etc. Magical stuff from the Queen of Song.

I am very content.

This is going in two threads, Goodfellas pizza, and a pint and a half of guiness I smuggled back from pub, whilst listening to 'Up all night'. They were a good band. Shame he's a c*nt.

Pavarotti The Legend . Twenty classic tracks by the Maestro whilst finishing the last drop of Solera Reserva Spanish Brandy (via Morrisons). Very Godfather.

Will make no apologies for having a power ballad session, and came to a startling conclusion:

Saturday Night I dusted off the Hi-Fi and raided my vinyl:

Rush - Archives

The Four Horsemen - Nobody said it was easy

All about Eve - Scarlet and other stories

Jethro Tull - Heavy Horses

Terrorvision - How to make friends and influence people

Status Quo - Piledriver

Lots of beer, lots of food, balmy summer evening and good friends for company. An oasis of pleasantry in an otherwise desert of reality.

I've seen them a dozen times or so (but obviously not recently).

They were one of the best live bands around 15 years ago.

I saw them about 15 year ago. Thought they were a bit crap actually.

That's nothing. I went to Staus Quo's 'End of the Road' tour in the mid-eighties ('85?) and they're still bobbing along, albeit as a slightly rockier Chas and Dave.

To my credit I have resisted parting with my hard earned.

I saw them at a festival around 96ish. They were great until they ruined it by doing that Tequila one. :(
