Never fancied Madrid (although I always went somewhere else rather than avoided it) but I used Coroba as a centre for my Sword of Saldin novel so I researched it quite thoroughly geographically. Bit difficult estimating how long it would take to get there from Granada on horseback.William the White wrote:Tango - if you've not done Madrid and Cordoba, you've just got to put that right... i think Cordoba even - just - beats Sevilla, and that's hard...

Bit of a long ride, that one - and still feckin hard by train now, I think... Cordoba may be my favourite Spanish city... the one we went to for our 20th wedding anniversary celebrations...TANGODANCER wrote:Never fancied Madrid (although I always went somewhere else rather than avoided it) but I used Coroba as a centre for my Sword of Saldin novel so I researched it quite thoroughly geographically. A newly aquired double CD, Ella Fitzerald GOLD. This is a pure bliss listen. All the great works of Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Rodgers and Hart etc. Manhatten, A fine Romance, Blue Moon, The Very Thought of You, I only have eyes for you, Small Hotel, Misty, I Love Paris, Let's Face the Music and Dance etc etc. Magical stuff from the Queen of Song.
I am very content.

Will make no apologies for having a power ballad session, and came to a startling conclusion:

Steve Perry-Lead singer of Journey

Leo Messi- Barcelona and Argentina wizard.
Don't Stop Believing.

In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

Saturday Night I dusted off the Hi-Fi and raided my vinyl:
Rush - Archives
The Four Horsemen - Nobody said it was easy
All about Eve - Scarlet and other stories
Jethro Tull - Heavy Horses
Terrorvision - How to make friends and influence people
Status Quo - Piledriver
Lots of beer, lots of food, balmy summer evening and good friends for company. An oasis of pleasantry in an otherwise desert of reality.

What i forgot to add is that despite going to their 'farewell gig', Shutty and the lads are back, again.superjohnmcginlay wrote:I saw them about 15 year ago. They were one of the best live bands around 15 years ago.

That's nothing. I went to Staus Quo's 'End of the Road' tour in the mid-eighties ('85?) and they're still bobbing along, albeit as a slightly rockier Chas and Dave.Bruno wrote:What i forgot to add is that despite going to their 'farewell gig', Shutty and the lads are back, again.superjohnmcginlay wrote:I saw them about 15 year ago. To my credit I have resisted parting with my hard earned.
