Used to absolutely love the office, and extras was just immense! But I've never enjoyed Gervais doing stand up. And that Invenrion of lying, and Ghost town were just terrible. However I would never tire of listening to the Gervais podcasts. Which leads me to the conclusion he's only any good when Stephen Merchant is involved? So I thought I'd put Cemetery Junction to the test - and I'm glad I did, it's just fantastic! I could not stop grinning all the way through! The story is a little cliched but is Its superbly acted and brilliantly funny. I just thought it was great and so was pleasently suprised by it. It also proves my theory, Gervais is nowt without Merchant!

For some reason that bloke who presents it just annoys me so much I can't watch it.

(Of course most of it's just jealousy that he does that for a living and I, well, don't)

Yep, totally agreed. Saw this at Th'Odeon in the Trafford Centre on Monday afternoon. The first half decent film I've seen this year, I thought. A good 'rights of passage film' with several laugh out loud moments and one scene that had me stifling a laugh for a good two minutes. Don't go to see it if you want to see Gervais though. He's on screen for less than five minutes (if you've seen the trailer you've seen Gervais) and Merchant has a cameo roll with just one line. The film doesn't suffer for that though. Well worth seeing with strong performances from the three main characters and all the support.

I'm taking a young lad I look after for Trafford council to see Iron Man 2 tonight. Enjoyed the first one, as did he, so looking forward to this sequel.

Iron Man 2 is shite. there were even several walkouts in the cinema i was in, a very nice cinema btw, the 'Showcase De Lux' in Bristol - very posh! just dont watch Iron Man 2 there!

tbf it does have its moments, but they are too few and far between, it was just booooooooooooooooooooring.

if it wasnt for the comfiest seats ever i might have pissed off myself.

The little git I was taking was late home from school yesterday so we ended up playing pool rather than seeing the film. Due to try again next Wednesday so I might try and change his mind on the back of your erudite review.

I've also got Four Lions down to see next week, looks excellent from what I've seen. Wanted to see The Infidel but that seems to have slipped by now.

Cant wait to see Four Lions, if not this weekend then I'll wait till Orange Wednesday next week. Looking forward to it almost as much as seeing the horrified media reaction that follows!

Currently got the Alternative Election Night on C4, Im a bit undecided about it at the moment, Laverne and the OTT crowd are doing my head in a bit, but looking forward to some gold from Charlie Brooker and Iannucci later on. Unless flat mate gets sick of it and turns it over!

I already got bored. The crowd are too loud, and it's all too obviously scripted. Oh, and Laverne is shit.

Well I've just seen Four Lions. Absolutely histerical!

However, it is not BrassEye on the big screen I was expecting, it is more slapstick than satirical, and it took me a while to adjust. But when you accept that, just kick back and watch a very funny film! Albeit more along the lines of Ali G or Borat than Jam or The day today.

Ps. was good to see two of my favourite comic actors and long time collaborators; Julia Davis & Kevin Eldon with cameos - completely pointless roles mind, but still good!

I enjoyed it, once I got over Idris Elba speaking with an English accent, good hours telly.
