I won't disagree that your figure is indeed, fine, but i'd love to know about what graft you do to keep it that way?!thebish wrote:my fine figure is the result of years of hard work and grafting... Re: The athletics/running thread
Second Cross-country race of the week this afternoon. Just under 5 miles at 36:51
Pleased but it was a tough field as I was near the back. Didn't get lapped though which is a plus.

29th December I was wondering if anyone was up to doing the Parkrun at Leverhulme Park?

Missed yesterdays match to do a XC at Leverhulme. It's a great yet punishing course, try & get up for that next year

Fair enough. Have to be away by about 11.00 though as the game starts at 3.00p.m.
Is there anywhere nearer than the Four Seasons?

Just a reminder if anyone's interested in giving this a go. Register on the Parkrun website and come say hello to the idiot in the Trent Park top.

Re: The athletics/running thread
Got round in 23:09 and finished 8th (would have been 7th but a Marshall directed me past the entrance to the track. Still and all I was happy with that, given the conditions. Didn't meet anyone from Bolton but two people introduced themselves to me. One guy lives round the corner from me in Enfield and spotted the shirt and a woman from Victoria Park Running Cllub in East London came and say hello. Small world.Gary the Enfield wrote:Just a reminder if anyone's interested in giving this a go. Register on the Parkrun website and come say hello to the idiot in the Trent Park top.

Good running! That's a top finish position. Shame none of this lazy lot on here didn't join you - unless you ran past Harry without recognising him cos you thought it was a female?!

How are the various ache, pains and injuries?! Any more tri's coming up?
Got two half marathons, a 10 miler and a sprint tri all before the end of April. That's after the 10 miler I've got lined up for tomorrow, but that's just for 'fun'.

Re: The athletics/running thread
Saw your time on the results last night GtE. 8th place is damned impressive. Well done
They altered the course a couple of months back and its caused a lot of slower times for folk than the original one did. How did you find it?
Dragged my lazy ar5e over Rivington this morning. Marathon training starts next week so I thought I'd better get out. Set off from Matchmoor Lane up through the woods to the reservoir at the top then round the back to the mast, across the moor to the Pike then up the back of the kennels to 2 Lads, round the quarry and back. God it were boggy - up to my knees in places. Did a rather spectacular fall coming off the pike in front of a big group of walkers. I could still hear em laughing when I was at the bottom

Re: The athletics/running thread
Cheers M. I actually found it easier as I didn't have to run up 'Cruella de Hill' 3 times. If you remember we ran an altered course last time. It's a tough course though and if I'm honest my time would have placed further back if more of the elite boys had turned up. Still, you can only beat what's in front of you as they say.Harry Genshaw wrote:Saw your time on the results last night GtE. 8th place is damned impressive.
