What are you reading tonight?

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

1997? That's the year that the Princess of Wales was killed. THAT long. Remind me never to lend you anything, ever. (not that I've much that you'd want to borrow anyway).

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

About to finish The Fall, sequel to The Strain, great stuff, fast paced vampire book (nothing like bloody Twilight), ok not the most high brow of entertainment but good fun.

About a third of the way through Ross O'Carrol-Kelly's Should Have Got Off At Sidney Parade. This is a seriously crazy book. Absolutely laughed my bollox off . Sheer madness.

Just finished Sam Bourne's Pantheon, a novel based around second world war facts on the topic of Eugenics, and the disturbing amount of high profile figures who believed in it in reality.

My P60. It's about as fathomable as James Joyce's Ulysses, but quite a bit shorter than Tolstoy's War & Peace.

See this is why I stick to Zombie books, did not understand a word of that :)

Currently on Michael Crichtons Next, enjoying it so far but has a hint of Prey about it (not a bad thing though). And at least no Zombies...........yet

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, actually enjoying it, might not understand the deeper bits but had me laughing in some places already so can't be bad

Just been reading the academic comments on Dan Brown's new book Inferno. Hilarious. The guy writes a book using his usual method of finding answers then using the questions as a topic, upsets all the historians and critics, makes a bomb out of it and laughs all the way to the bank. More disturbing is that the historians and critics take it all so seriously and get their underwear in an uproar about an obviously fictional story only to be contradicted in turn by others who say they don't know what they're talking about. Brilliant. Carry on Dan...

Have you read Stone Junction by Jim Dodge. I reckon Hunter thompson fans would like it. Features a mule called Pissgums, which always makes me chuckle.

Stone Junction currently sits on the SOS. Will dig it out over the summer, me thinks.

Gets a bit mad at the end but brilliant characters and writing style.

Gardening magazines (I know)
'I know he's a popular player but we think this is taking things too far. Somewhere in Bolton there's someone with a John McGinlay tree in their garden!' Super John's Wife.

Just finished Ivans War - accounts of Soviet Solderis experiences during WWII.

Fascinating yet depressing. Am after something a bit lighter for my next read

Possibly the most forced and falsely written piece of shite I ever managed to give a go.

I thought Labrinth had some merit because of its Cathar history background. This one just waffles along aimlessly. Not even sure I'll finish it.
