Hospital result:
Three days ago, my grandson's partner (six weeks away from producing our second great grandchild) was rushed into hospital diagnosed with pre-eclampsia. I'd never heard of it but it's rather worrying as it can actually be life-threatening. She's been kept in till tomorrow but looks like they caught it in time. She's a lovely kid and now has to attend every three days, for monitoring, but it could all have been so much worse. Result.

I think it is one of the few conditions where it is proven that where smokers are at less risk than non-smokers. I also believe there is no cure other than delivering the baby (though this is based on an old and shaky memory)..TANGODANCER wrote:Hospital result:

my son ranting about his games programming lecturer on fb...
SON: How do you even get to be a lecturer on physics simulation if you don't understand how to use Windows, Google or Powerpoint
Bish: gah!!!
SON: Watching someone type something into a search box that obviously isn't going to get the result they want it to while sitting in a room full of programmers is a surreal and frustrating experience

Re: Today I'm happy about......
A while ago I posted on here about the Mrs finding a stray dog at the back of our house. It was a lovely little thing and when we found it wasn't microchipped we were really tempted to keep it. After weighing up all the pros & cons, we decided against it and it went off to Leigh cats & dogs home. It was one of the most difficult decisions we've ever made and we were both really upset about it.
Today at a Cross Country meeting a couple came over chatting to a mutual friend, telling them all about this dog they had adopted a few weeks ago. They live on the other side of Manchester and had been scouring all the NW dogs homes trying to find the right pooch, which to our amazement turned out to be the same dog. They were a lovely family and the bloke takes it out running every day. Knowing that it has a far better life than we could have given it has really made my day.

He's great thanks GG. We know time is ticking for him but right now he's still as daft as a brush and we're determined to enjoy him as much as possible whilst we still have him. When do you take delivery of your new fella?

Re: Today I'm happy about......
Well i'm ecstatic just got back from the hospital after witnessing my mrs giving birth to are first son and im over the moon
It's took me 3 go's and i started to get fed up with all the bullying from the girls in my house
So iv evened up the odds a little
Mother and baby doing fine and should be out this afternoon 8lb 12 and we've called him Lucien
I'm determined to fill the Reebok. Iv already got him a load of Bolton gear

Congratulations PW.
Did you really need to get him the Bolton gear? Tantamount to child abuse.
