3) Is scoring 60 goals.
4) Around the World in 80 Days.
So I'd guess 1) is 20th Century Fox (?), and 2) something to do with '40'.

In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

Well, if it is 20th century fox, we have the sequence 20, 40, 60 and 80 (also assuming the others are correct)

Does Dunblane make it too easy?
I could go with "In terms of capacity, what is the fourth largest stadium in Europe and the largest not used for association football?" instead?

Well to be honest, it was the first two that gave it away almost immediately. The third confirmed it. The fourth determined whether it was just Days or massacres.mummywhycantieatcrayons wrote:Yes, yes, yes, yes and yes.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:1. St Bride's Churchmummywhycantieatcrayons wrote:1. If you'd had the Dunblane one first, I might have got it wrong, because I'm never sure whether he (Andy Murray)'s Glaswegian or not - and so would have introduced an element of doubt.
I would have thought, for most people, the St Brides is the hardest clue both in general knowledge and the connection to massacres - it's only my history nerdishness that let me know about the Danish slaughter.

St Bride's would have been the hardest for me (though Spotty had solved it before I got up). I believe the massacre was on St. Brice's day not St. Bride's.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Well to be honest, it was the first two that gave it away almost immediately. The third confirmed it. I think, Monty, though I might be wrong, St Bride and St Brice come from the same root - one of the early saints named Bridei in 'Pict'.

Possibly, though I thought Saint Bride, aka Bridget was an Irish woman, while old Bride was a Roman/French chap. Of course there could be several of them.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:I think, Monty, though I might be wrong, St Bride and St Brice come from the same root - one of the early saints named Bridei in 'Pict'.

There were at least three. I think it's a case of Dennis/Dionysius rather than Karl/Charles.Montreal Wanderer wrote:Possibly, though I thought Saint Bride, aka Bridget was an Irish woman, while old Bride was a Roman/French chap.
