Planning to watch "There will be Blood" BBC 2 at 9-0'clock. Not seen it but it's got good reviews.

Been to blockies - got Clash of the Titans (which wifie wanted to watch) and Sherlock Holmes. Not too fussed about the first one, but will give the Sherlock a go.

Its rubbish.

Well I reckon it is, anyway. Endured it the other day.

Watched that Men who Stare at Goats. Decent enough evenings entertainment.

Thought Clash of the Titans was ok, inoffensive enough, without being gripping.

Quite enjoyed most of Holmes, few bits were probably fairly inconsequential (some of the fight stuff), but a reasonable yarn.

I can only tell it as I see it Verbal, and this wasn't my idea of an immense film. I already knew Daniel Day Lewis was a terrific actor, but the film was slow and laborious without really going anywhere. Won't say more so as not to spoil it for others who may think differently.

great film imo, although how irritating is the Eli character!? i was glad when he had that little skirmish with the skittle!

Didnt like Guy Ritchies Sherlock Holmes one bit myself.

It's good for a Guy Ritchie film.

Great film is Cinderella man, but I still prefer Raging Bull. Personal favourite film to do with boxing though is The Hurricane although its more about his story outside of the ring. Features Bob Dylans ‘Hurricane’ in the soundtrack too which is worth another star on its own!

Honourable mention for Rocky too!

Not seen Tangos suggestion, but it is available form lovefilm if its worth adding?

ill be continuing my Woody Allen-athon this week with Hannah & her sisters, plus ive just aquired Whatever works with Larry David! Manhattan is awesome!

Yep, I entirely agree. Didn't do anything for me, except bore me almost to tears. 3 hours of my life, that I'll never get back

Whilst the wife went touring a frock shop today I popped in the charity shop next door to peruse their DVD shelf. Found a video instead (yeah, I'm one of those saddos who still own a video player) and and bought a copy of the old Kirk Douglas, Tony Curtiss, Ernest Borgnine classic, The Vikings. Haven't seen it for donkeys years and enjoyed jumping aboard a longship and setting about all the raping and pillaging and buckle swashing again. Still a good couple of hours worth of entertainment and all for the princely sum of 50p (Nobody wants videos anymore) my good luck as it was picture and sound perfect. :D
