Went to my 1st spin class tonight.

Bloody ell  It were damned tough. 5 minutes in I weren't sure I'd make it to the end. Got better once I got into it but still a bit of a shock. Must have lost a few pounds in sweat -I had to mop the floor round my bike afterwards

So you didn't borrow GtE's leg warmers and sign up for Zumba then? Pah. Lightweight. ;)

You won't catch me exercising indoors. Unless it's swimming.

Hany hoo, off to Royston tonight for my second MWRRL meeting of the season. Just found out they've extended the course to 10.75k due to waterworks diversion.

No idea what time I'll do as my legs are still heavy from last week's races. It's bloody warm down here too.

Spinning is tough. i always find it necessary to cheat when they tell you how much resistance to put on. I could just go more often and get better at it, but...
Good luck in the league race GtE, what does the MW stand for? I'm hoping to get a few races in in the Central lancs GP when my calf clears up.

It's just Mid Week Road Race League for clubs around North London and Hertfordshire. I did the course in 46.33 and the 10k point was at 44.34. Solid pace and a very comfortable run.

Well done GtE, am slowly getting quicker here. Had a good run tonight. Just need to up my minuscule mileage now.

How's the injury doing Harry?

Joined a gym today. It's a big commitment - £50 p/m (better rinse those classes!), and I wasn't sure whether I could give it the attention it merited in terms of constant Facebook updates, but I've taken the plunge!

Nice one. I do enjoy laid-back summer evening type races, need to get running regularly again before they pass me by. There's a 5k series in Cheshire at Dunham Massey, Lymm, Bowdon etc which I've done in the past, and the Sale Sizzlers in Wythenshawe park. Worth a look if you're up this way. Going to do parkrun at Leverhulme Park tomorrow, if the calf's OK on tonight's jog.

Couple of running friends post full in-depth garmin data for every running session. I admire their enthusiasm when I'm in a generous mood, but am not sure I need to actually look at said data. Good luck on the value for money front, I wasted lots over the years when good intentions came to naught.

I might do a few matches this summer but coaching all the time just means I have done no training so given I am therefore pretty rusty and crap I feel less inspired to compete. The problem is, jumping of any kind needs specialist equipment not always easily accessible - its not like being able to strap your trainers on and go for a run whenever you fancy it. Still psyching myself up for a park run though. Why do they have to be 9am Saturday mornings? Its the one day of the week I actually get a lie in.

I have however, got a football tournament end of June which I am very over-excited about and am taking the afternoon off work for. :) Might even sign on next season rather then just train with my team as I won't be working sunday afternoons from September anymore - but then if i'm playing every sunday afternoon then i'm still not seeing anymore of Mr GG or the kids...

I'm sure Mr GG will eagerly tell you to go for it

Park runs are great but agree on the timing. I tend to make my mind up on the Saturday. If I wake up and feel alert (ish) for 8am then I pop along

At the moment our nearest park runs are half hours drive away, Brighton or Crawley - which is pretty off-putting, however the club are starting a Haywards Heath one end of July so then I will have no excuse. (it is apparently going to be very hilly though... :( )

Just found my nearest Parkrun is a full half a mile away in Finsbury park. Going to have to do one over the summer.

Went for my gym induction thing yesterday, half an hour with a personal trainer. Still can't walk. Looking forward to doing some classes though, so much harder to push yourself when you're alone!
