Ooooh, not the "she's really nice if you get to know her" line.Gooner Girl wrote:Honestly, you lot are so shallow. Whats wrong with nice, normal girls with nice personalities? Why do men get so hung up on celebrities?
Well, I'm not going to get to know her am I ... as she looks like a melted candle with with braces and has an ass I could rest a tray of drinks on.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Let's not be too hasty! I could see a potential upside there.bobo the clown wrote:Ooooh, not the "she's really nice if you get to know her" line.Gooner Girl wrote:Honestly, you lot are so shallow. Whats wrong with nice, normal girls with nice personalities? Why do men get so hung up on celebrities?

I might have done to rescue you from a crappy week - but it seems it doesn't work for women... so - no!Gooner Girl wrote:Are you offering to strip off for me Bish?!thebish wrote:Gooner Girl wrote:

Why would I suggest she's a rotter if she was stood at my shoulder? I don't have a death wish!!clapton is god wrote:Did she suddenly appear at your shoulder whilst you were typing that?boltonboris wrote:Birds with nice personalities are usually grotters..
My missus wouldn't smile at kittens cuddling.. Which means I don't get tired of nailing her.
Only joking.. She's a stand-up comedienne

Re: Today I'm neither Angry nor Happy about....
My fixed term contract is up on 30th September and my employers have a duty to try and redeploy me. Today they contacted me with 2 wonderful job offers. The first (an IT post) I can honestly say I couldn't understand half of the person spec for the post. The second will mean a pay cut of 12 grand a year. I'm not angry, I'm not happy. I'm just a tad numb and not quite sure what to do for the best. As my gran used to say, "It'll all come out in't wash".
I've had better days at work, that's for sure

It's simply the starting point for negotiation, my friend. Get to it.

May the bridges I burn light your way

To be terribly honest ... & nothing v you Bijou Bob, but it's bizarre that a fixed-term contract, as it ends, should these days warrant being treated as a redundancy.
It's fixed term, it's ended.
But, it IS the law nowadays & very weird it is too.

Sorry to hear that G.G. Back legs the problem? Usually is at that age. Friend of ours has a 15 year old who she doesn't think will last much longer. Our little fella's only 6 but has hip problems already. Little pest at times, but we'd be gutted if anything happened to him.Gooner Girl wrote:My dogs really poorly. He's 16. He is old - and I know he's living on borrowed time but doesn't make the thought of saying goodbye much easier.Gary the Enfield wrote:Gooner Girl wrote:My dogs really poorly. He's 16. I'm going to have to make some tough decisions possibly in the next day or so

Took him to the vets this morning as he wasn't eating and was being sick, really lethargic and not wanting to move. I thought maybe he had just eaten something he shouldn't but they did blood tests and results came back very quickly, vet phoned this afternoon and said he was anaemic, had too high or too levels of many various minerals etc, that there were things wrong with his red and white blood cells, all in all it was leading to problems with his kidneys. We don't know if it's an infection that might clear or if it's gone onto failure. She said there are things they can do but we should think about the possibility of putting him down too. At the mo he's on antibiotics to see if that helps. Not looking promising so far...

Nope, back legs ok Tango, he has breathing difficulties which slow him down but never really suffered with his joints, he could quite happily (until the other day) hop up onto the sofa or bed...TANGODANCER wrote:Sorry to hear that G.G. Hope he makes it ok anyway. Can't fight age, unfortunately.Gooner Girl wrote: Nope, back legs ok Tango, he has breathing difficulties which slow him down but never really suffered with his joints, he could quite happily (until the other day) hop up onto the sofa or bed...
