Outstanding. Yosser Hughes one of the great dramatic creations, and the best thing Bernard hill has ever done! Imo...

Was great to revisit.

wasnt dissappointed, wasnt exactly thrilled by it either.
Just watched it now. I thouht it was pretty good to be honest, which is as expected. I could've done without the close-up on the wardrobe malfunction though!
Trendy not to like it though, Bruce.

Trendy? No was just a little underwhelmed by the first episode.

Last nights episode was back on form...."Ok only because I'm a drug dealer, not because I'm black"

Yeah, was miles better last night. TV suddenly picked itself up recently. i watched the 2nd TIE86 again afterwards, which cracked me up (woody on that excercise bike, and gadget snorting sherbet dips) and Him & Her was fookin hilarious last night n'all. chuck in a few eps of Entourage and meant i didnt stop grinning all night.

Watched The Prophet last night. a much praised French gangster/prison drama which also looks at racial division. A complex story, violence extreme but not lingered over with sado-masochistic delight, very well shot, interestingly acted and I was held thoughout the 2 hrs 35. And was left with the faintly guilty feeling of 'so what'? Nothing new here, no profound insights, no revelations, just a good flick, which is fine, but did it deserve the raves?

I really liked A Prophet, but still not as good as Mesrine!

-------------------------

slightly off topic but... Has anyone walked up Dale Street in Manchester the last couple of days? Hell fire i thought i was in Godfather 2, just needed to find the Genco Olive Oil Company! Seriously the whole street has been turned into a film set to look like 1940’s New York, its for the new Captain America film! Filming has started and will be on site there for a good few weeks, they are filming a 4 minute car chase scene round the Northern Quarter apparently too. I was like a fat kid in a sweet shop - all the camera equipment, lighting rigs, actors trailers etc etc, and the detail of the set is unbelievable!

I was around when they were filming the Guy Ritchie Sherlock flick but it was nothing like the scale of this. Quality!

I saw Captain America in rice and three last week - a mate of mine is an extra on the film - £90 a day for three weeks work. Went in for his haircut last week and also his costume fitting.
