Indeed it is. As, I find, Bank Top ales usually are. It's just that I can't tell one from another. :?

I've just exercised my rights as an Englishman and asked for, and, more to the point, received 2/3rds of a pint. I can be an awkward tw@t, but honestly, I only had two quid in me pocket left, and facing a 35 minute walk home before Great Brit Bake-off, a pint woulda been too much. Result.

There's a bar (& restaurant) just up the road from me that will only sell you a beer in 1/2 and 2/3rd pints (schooners). They also do a damn fine serving of charcuterie - pig cheeks, wild boar salami, even goat sometimes.

And that's in Scotland, yes?... I shall have to extend my rights to those of being a Brit. :D

Now that football has gone down the pan, Ale is my fallback solution to fulfilling hobbydom. I am currently teasing out a Gilbert's Fridge from Oakham... niiiiiiiiiice.

Prompted by Bruces post in the RIP thread, I thought I'd mention a colleague I had who was known for his 'Town Hall Clock' trick.

At the stroke of midnight he could have 12 pints of beer lined up on the bar top and on each bong of the clock would sink a pint.

There are times that you just have to step back in amazement at what you've just seen.

I'm stopping a few beers going off at the Bury Beer Festival this Saturday. Looking forward to it.

Bluedolf. 5% abv by Blue Monkey. a Christmas special that is, for once, a pale ale with splendidly citrussy hops galore. I'm not paid by them, by the way... just a fan.

Was in Bristol at Christmas and tried some 'Bath Ales' for the first time, which were fantastic. 'Gem' i think is the most popular/well-known. I think you can find them in London too, but haven't seen them outside the South/West.

I believe that someone's opened a real ale stall in the re-vamped market. Good work, them. Investigation required.

Choice to make between Cardiff game and Manchester Beer Festival at the velodrome. Mates going in the afternoon to have a good go at it and get back on a train without expensive taxis.

Do both, then catch the Vomit Express home. :pissed:

Can't, mates adamant they're going in the afternoon. Specifically to avoid said express I think. Or perhaps to create their own earlier version.

*splutter*
Wtf. Ale (and wine) disappeared...the only way I could find them was through a search... It this the result of legends reappearing? If I could find my prediction thread I'd predict the new Sticky will get about a hit a year, if that, but I can't find. So I won't.
Anyway I'm drinking some ale - right now Dr Morton's "Hedgehog Sharpener" 4.1%abv
Nice
