Winning the lottery. Just had an email from a nice Canadian lady to say my email address has been selected in a special promotional draw and I've won half a million pounds.
Good start to January I think!

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Actually we don't use pounds in Canada....I expect you've only won half a million dollars.BWFC_Insane wrote:Winning the lottery. Just had an email from a nice Canadian lady to say my email address has been selected in a special promotional draw and I've won half a million pounds.

Ah well, you see they had converted the amount into sterling. Very accomodating.Montreal Wanderer wrote:Actually we don't use pounds in Canada....I expect you've only won half a million dollars.BWFC_Insane wrote:Winning the lottery. Meant I didn't even have to get my calculator out.
Amazingly my email was picked out of the 5 million entered.
Slightly confusingly lower down in the email they listed the 6 winning numbers and bonus ball. Not sure how that works seeing as I didn't pick any numbers and I'd won via an email out of a virtual hat process, but I'm sure that's just an oversight......

Went whitewhater kayaking today in Llangollen and managed to put a hole in my boat somehow.
Anyway, I spent the afternoon repairing the boat with a combination of a hair dryer, a screwdriver and a "creme brulee" type blowtorch. I repaired the hole, thus rescuing a £700 kayak from being scrapped. Result.

The wife's alcohol license has finally arrived. I'm still waiting but now I don't have to hide the whisky collection under the stairs and I can send the Missus out to buy beer

No one happy since Tuesday?? Miserable set of bar stewards you lot are turning into.
Today I'm happy that my back seems to be getting better and to celebrate, I'm going looking at two possibles for my new set of wheels. It's not much, but it's made me happy
