Met up with my mate last night, you know when youve had a shitty day and you really CBA but you drag yourself out and it ends up being completely ace? Well id not seen him in over a year so made the effort. He is an investment banker in Mayfair so I tubed over to Baker Street, we went in a few incredibly posh pubs round Marylebone which were alright but then he took us to his ‘club’ .. fookin nora. Check out Home House on tinterweb – literally how the other half live..

Ive played squash at a few of these private members clubs; Hurlinghams, the RAF etc and they are always a bit too snooty and aristocratic. This place isn’t anything like that, its twice as opulent but its completely laid back. A playground for arab oil barons and Russian football chairmen... Its split up into loads of individual rooms each with their own vibe, one with a bar designed by Zaha Hadid! its quite a young crowd too, loads were dressed up for Halloween, I was on this vintage rum which was amazing, (there are no prices anywhere but on the bill the cocktails we had later on were £45 rips each!) we dined too, just a burger but it was bang on, dead good catch up, having a laugh with a few girls, ran up a tidy bill and best of all – on his expenses! One of the best nights ive had in London. Tremendous.

Well I survived it but it's no wonder folk take drugs when the headliners don't come on 'til gone 3:30, some of us don't and have been at work all week lads. :)

Well Brucey, if Turin Breaks are used to venues like the Apollo then they'll get a shock when they hit Gorilla. Not the best venue in the world, it reminded me of the cockpit in Leeds in that it's in the arches of a railway but it's far bigger. Probably about Hop and Grape (Academy 3) size. It is a 'proper' venue with the entrance round the back, not through the front door where the £4.40 pints are served to the city's yuppies.

Cheers, Doc. Must be 10 years since I saw them at The Apollo (touring Ether Song) and I imagine that it's been pretty much a gradual decline in gig sizes since. In fact, I'm wondering if the title of their new album 'We Were Here' signifies that it'll be their last?! Looks a cracking little venue, especially for a band that do a fair bit of acoustic stuff.

However, that's on Wednesday but tomorrow evening sees Lloyd Cole play The Citadel in St Helens. Not sure that I can really afford three gigs and a night at the theatre all within the space of seven evenings so am going to have to pick one. :?

You see, it actually is, and therefore I'll put up with all the inconvenience and heartache incurred for this one night. But believe me, it'll drag on night after night, wekend after weekend. Miserable feckin 'celebration' that it is... :hang:

One can immediately sieve out any chavs living nearby simply by the fact that they have the place lit up like Dresden. Noisy scutter bastards.

just been out to see Joseph and his Amazing technicolour Dreamcoat - starring (wait for it) "H" from Steps...

me and my eldest amused ourselves at the never-ending encore-reprise section by daring each other to shout "Make it Stop" louder and louder...

anyway - went because my daughter was in the chorus - and as such on stage the whole way through - and she and the chorus were fab - proud dad! :D

(the narrator woman did the confused.com telly advert - that's how star-studded it was!!)

That is stunningly star studded: H from Steps, plus confused.com narrator woman!
That narrator woman wants a new hair stylist by the way. And the stripey jumper doesn't do her any favours.

Where have I been?

Well Last year a new Rent-a-Car Service hit town, Offering DeLorean's and TARDIS's for rental...

I finally got through the waiting lists and got a nice little old Tardy....

Well, I just returned it after taking it and my VCR Through Time and Space; and I got Every WWF Episode of RAW from 1996 through to the end of 1998!!!! Plus a few PPVs!

But I need 1999! The waiting lists are now years away, but there is an option like the Terminader movie thingamabob; and I will use that! Expect me to add five more years of being a Wanderer Supporter when I finally Return!!! :Jedi:

Just back from the pub after a night out with the girls, good to have a meal and catch up. also caught up with a bunch of ex work colleagues out for the night and my ex boyfriends best mate who I had not seen for ages. And some random bloke presented me with a rose. As you do. :conf:

Cineworld for the National Theatre production of Alan Bennet's The Habit of Art.

This was a very good, very funny, very clever play, about theatre and poetry and the trials of rehearsal. Laugh out loud much of the time, nod in recognition also, and think a bit as well...

Not a live transmission but part of the Encore series of live transmissions of the past - to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the NT. I'd much rather the NT toured and brought its productions at an affordable price to the regions - but the quality of these transmissions is high and improving and I'm reconciled to them as a v gd second best.
