Where are you going tonight?

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

In the old original bay horse in Horwich, band doing an electro synth pop version of Sweet Child of Mine. Drinking Sweet Rosie cloudy cider. Top notch.

Proper town ... not only a 'Bay Horse', but also an 'Old Original Bay Horse' about 50 yards away.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

A friend of a friend is married to a member of a violin band called Stringfever. Last Christmas we got invited round to a bunfight at their house at which Stringfever belted out several tunes - the one which won't ever leave my mind is their four-part violin rendition of Sweet Child of Mine. Utterly outstanding.

Just been talking on Facebook to a lad who was in the Orignal Bay Horse tonight!

Whilst working in the plain old Bay Horse (Adlington/Rivi way- Heath Charnock, if you please) I used to love going in there and comparing notes on who we'd had coming to the wrong pub meaning the other.

Went to see Billy Joel at the NEC last night with Mrs Z. Awesome! He was one of my 1980's favourites - never thought I'd get to see him live. His show and his backing band were just brilliant.

A very good evening.

There is a plain and simple Bay Horse within 50 yards of the Old Original one Pru. No need to go all that way to Adlington to find one.

Is that not the absolute shithole that has trance music blaring out from about 7pm of a Friday, or is that somewhere else? It's a while since I've been to Horwich! Or is it the one where the bar starts from the door on the right hand side? Used to go in the Bridge, Original Bay Horse, that one with the bar on the right hand side (other side of the road to the Original), and that one that ended up trying to be a swanky wine bar but had a massive outdoor bit and the novelty of those Guinness surgers.

Technical answer to that, Pru, is .... "fck knows". It's over 30 years since I did a crawl in Horwich.

The Old Original is on the right as you would drive into Horwich from Aldington. Not far from the Crown. It's bar is actually slightly lower than the street level door,

The Bay Horse is on the left ... just before the town hall. It looks more of a 'tryer' than the Original which looks like it has simply remained a local pub for local people.

No idea. It was The Courtyard Bistro and has changed again to White Tiger Boutique Bar.

What's happening to the old town ? Orr's chippy, Rigby's chippy, the Cygnet have all gone. The Dog, the Old Original, the Millstone, the Squirrel (though that's a blessing) ..... making a top noshery of the Black Bull. I bloody hope the Queen's Head and Toll Bar have survived.

You'll be telling me the RMI have gone next.

A little previous ( What's new says my missus  ) But tomorrow, Bill Wyman & his Rythm Kings at Shanklin Theatre.
I should have gone & seen Glen Tilbrook at same venue on Thur for an acoustic eve, but events transpired against us unfortunately.

A night of political tyranny and resistance to it. Of passion, love and attempted rape. Of murder, torture and execution.

In other words - Tosca from the NY Met for £12 in cineworld.

Stunningly good. :D :D :D

Was in the Tollbar last night but after a visit to The Crown I went to the Queen's Head to find it was shut. Still the pub it was but if it's shut on a Friday night that's not a good sign.

I agree. You just have to do something on a day like today! Set off for the Lakes at 8am with a young lad I look after and was walking out of Grasmere by 10, on the summit of Helm Crag by 12 looking at The Howitzer and drinking coffee, back down by 2 and back in Manchester by 3.30. Can't think of a finer way to spend a sunny day!
