Wife watches that X Factor stuff nightly in the lounge while I hide in the living room. Friday (think it was) I heard some howler absolutely massacering the old Kinks hit "You really got me". Got a mental image of Bruce frenziedly smashing fxck out of his telly with a guitar.

Came close to it, Tango. :D I'll admit, I had it on whilst I was concentrating on something else, then my ears pricked up at this bed-wetting prick absolutely slaughtering it. Then, one of them only the panel said that the song wasn't strong enough for them!!! I shit you not. :whack:

Didn't hear any further so I missed that bit. No big surprise. Wonder what our current boy band heroes would do with lyrics like "My name is Jack, and I live in the back, of the Greta Garbo Home for wayward boys and girls".

Well, I did say I "thought" it was Friday. Wife watches so much crap I rarely venture in there.
Anyway, three days is a long time for my memory.

Trying to get into it. Not as good as their first two as Cormac's voice is less raw and a bit overlaid and polished.

Another few listens till concert time though.

Edit: Sorry, I don't know how to re-size it!

I think I'll stick with CAPS's excellent Damien Rice suggestion!

Splinters?

Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.
