Saw him with Noel Gallagher. He was better when Gallagher left the stage and Ibrahim Aziz (or somesuch ) took over.
I quite like his solo stuff aswell.

Exactamundo. Brown without Squire is like Morrissey without Marr or Tilbrook without Difford. I wouldn't watch Brown on his own if he was playing in my garden, but I'll be living on the ticket site come Friday morning. True story - Our Kid scored two tickets for us to see them place Spike Island. However, he didn't tell me, pulled some trout in Ritzy a week or so before and took her instead, the c*nt.clapton is god wrote:Saw Ian Brown at MEN a couple of years ago and he reached a whole new level of shiteness - but I'll be there for this!Il Pirate wrote:Some Stone Roses tonight,

Never really understood the fuss over the Stone Roses. Much preferred the Charlatans.
Anyway, today I have been mostly listening to Turin Brakes - The Optimist LP

Re: What are you playing tonight?
Sadly, the most underwhelming gig of my life was Charlatans at Manchester Academy a couple of years ago. I always thought it impossible for any band to disappoint there, but they were absolutely wretched. Such a great band at such a magnificent venue (warm up gig prior to them doing that summer's festivals)Harry Genshaw wrote:Never really understood the fuss over the Stone Roses. Great call on The Optimist btw, Harry. Brilliant.

The Cure CDs are still in the boot of the Car!
I bought 6 cds yesterday. ($2 each)
one was Evanesscdsssance
nearly had a cry listening to it
Now I want to get a cd of bands that may sound like them;
Through Roadrunner there are two: Nightwish & Within Temptation.
I didn't buy the other week two cds, I still want them
(Danzig 3 and Primus Rhinoplasty)

Mastodon(g) are on Jools Holland tonight.
Should be interesting. I hope they crack on with Mother Puncher, March of the Fire Ants, Trainwreck, Crusher Destroyer and Iron Tusk.

You Tube clip but posted here as there has been a couple of mentions of James recently. The band have just started tour with the Manchester Choir and this was last weekend at Cardiff. Special night for one young woman near the end there.

Felt like a bit of sunshine. Warning, heavy metal fans avoid at all costs.

Re: What are you playing tonight?
At the risk of pushing my luck, a bit more James from the current tour. This is a compilation clip from by all accounts a fantastic night in Glasgow earlier this week. The Glasgow crowd have become a benchmark for other venues.
