SLF at The Ritz last night. Ears still ringing and throat still sore. Just as it should be then.

Re: Where are you going tonight?
On Saturday I went to see the Halle Orchestra at Bridgewater Hall in Manchester
Ruslan and Ludmilla Overture - Glinka
Piano Concerto No. 1 - Tchaikovsky
Russian Easter Festival Overture - Rimsky-Korsakov
A Night on the Bare Mountain - Mussorgsky (orch Rimsky-Korsakov)
1812 Overture - Tchaikovsky
I won't pretend to be a classical music buff for a second but I thought it was tremendous and plenty was recognisable to the man off the street (me). Though I do wonder if I was the only one in there going "Oh this is what they use in the Gazprom advert on the Champions League"

Went to 'Vinopolis' in London yesterday. You get a 15 minute lesson on how to taste wine and then you have a card with tokens on to try a load of different wines. I'm not really into wine but it's a fun way to spend a couple of hours. I did refuse to try any Merlot though after watching Sideways.

I love Sideways. Miles is such a loser, reminds me of myself.
I also like Merlot though, so he can feck off.
Just finishing a shitty bottle of Blossom Hill that my mate bought for cooking. It's poor but I'm determined to get through it.

I went with the girlf in the summer and had a top time! You have any of the absinth? Pretty cool watching them do it, but not really worth the tokens unless you've splashed out for a fair few.Beefheart wrote:Went to 'Vinopolis' in London yesterday. We got a 'buy one get one half price' deal online, then we had one friend who ended up not using most of his so we had quite a lot of tokens. I also got a free couple of tastes as I was hanging around when they were changing a couple of bottles over.Prufrock wrote:I went with the girlf in the summer and had a top time! Very nice place with the food being understated but good, whilst of course the wines are the focus.Beefheart wrote:Went to 'Vinopolis' in London yesterday. Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Ha I'd forgotten the staff with their own cards. Our Maud managed to rinse loads of free stuff. Started asking how much of a difference the soil made; suddenly we're charging about all over the site trying this and that all on their tab. Tomorrow the NY Met Opera performs La Boheme.
And I'll watch it at Cineworld for £12.
Bargain.

Re: Where are you going tonight?
do you have a cineworld unlimited card, will? seems like it would save you a packet given the number of filums you see!
Nero fiddles while Gordon Burns.
Re: Where are you going tonight?
Think these live opera things are excluded from it, though could be wrong.

Went watching "Five Finger Death Punch" at the Manc Academy on Tuesday night and drew back the years by entering the "pit" (completely sober too), its was amazing but I'm aching like buggery now. The Band were amazing and it was one of the best gigs I've ever been too!!!

It was a strange experience and my mates were all half-cut, but i was happy to be stood towards the back, but they wanted to "get in on it" so i thought "what the feck", didn't go at it full force like my mates did, but was still enjoyable, but I think its a one-off as my neck and shoulders are killing me now hahaha, so stood near to the bar next time for me.
