Being told by the <cough> Windows IT Department <cough> that my computer was running slow, concluding 50 minutes later with the assertion "I wasn't right in the head", for having the temerity to waste their time...

I think it would cheer us all up to hear how you filled 50mins of their time!

I can account for the last 15, during which there was a predominance of

"You are a hyena and a jackal"

"Err all I did was point out the inaccuracies of what you're telling me"

"You've deliberately wasted my time, I think you're imbalanced"

"Didn't you ring me? Anyhow, I pointed out in the first sentences that the machine I was looking at was connected to an IL5 network, maybe it didn't occur to you that this IL5 network has no external connections?"

"Why did you go through all my instructions, you hyena, laughing at me"

"Well you insisted I was wrong, you were most persuasive, I did point out, about 20 minutes in that I was an Enterprise Architect and didn't know half the things you were telling me, I wanted to learn"

Change-over from Sky to Virgin went smoothly this morning and everything set up nicely. Our time slot was 8-1 and the engineer was here at 8am on the dot. Now showing a 10 fold increase in broadband speed, which is nice but probably doesn't mean much in the great scheme of things.

Also treated myself to a custom domain and email address this morning and that also went without a hitch.

Change-over from Sky to Virgin went smoothly this morning and everything set up nicely. Our time slot was 8-1 and the engineer was here at 8am on the dot. Now showing a 10 fold increase in broadband speed, which is nice but probably doesn't mean much in the great scheme of things.

Also treated myself to a custom domain and email address this morning and that also went without a hitch.

Did you get one of those fancy, glossy black hub broadband speed uprater, thingies with blue lighting? I applied for one and the speed's been great since.
