Where are you going tonight?

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

Great stuff! Saw it on Broadway not knowing what to expect or much about the story. "Feck me that's a proper helicopter" in a broad Bolton accent ruined some of the atmosphere.

Any road, tonight, on Clapton's recco, it's the Octagon for Brassed Off. Proper looking forward to it

I've been to the Octagon maybe 50 times now, been a season ticket holder for six of the last seven years. I don't ever remember enjoying an evening there as much as this one. We got Orange Juice and Floral dance and much more besides and it was every bit as spine tingly good as the clip from the film, more so being live music. Great cast, great band that filled the place with music, great set, bags of humour with lots of laugh out loud moments and lots that will bring you close to tears too. Get yourself a ticket and go.
Wholly endorse this. Bloody brilliant :oyea:

Couldn't get tickets, was on a waiting list but no luck. Will try again for next week. Clearly very popular.

We only got ours last week. Said sold out but I had a look on their website and with the exception of Saturday there were 2 or 3 left for all the other days

Be careful mate. Stay well away from the Russian owned clubs - unless you fancy being marched to a cash machine by two giants to withdraw 300 Euros for the two beers you bought. No, I'm not joking!

Yeah, i've had the warnings. We're on an organised do so hopefully should avoid the things like that. Either way, wits will be sharpened (then dulled by alcohol)

Back yesterday.

Was a good do. Bit of a blowout as several people jumped ship late on (one lad literally the day of the flight) and one guy sadly had to leave on the saturday morning due to a family emergency, leaving only four of us there. Still, a good time was had.

This was one of the things we did

obviously tanned Americans make it look better.

Just back from watching the magnificent Chuck Ragan at Gorilla. His set was outstanding from start to finish and he's one of the most personally likeable performers I've seen. Got there early as recommended by Prufrock and enjoyed the opening singer Billy The Kid very much. Next support was the enthusiastic but mediocre Northcote.
Ragan has been going years in various bands but still clearly loves touring and there was a very inclusive feel to the whole thing, he joined Billy The Kid for a duet and clearly looks to help these younger lesser known acts get on. His interaction with the audience was also genuine and avoided the increasingly common clichéd shouting of 'HEY MANCHESTER!!' for cheap cheers.
It's a great mix of punk and folk with a bit of country and I can't recommend it enough.

Glad you enjoyed it dude, the man is a hero.

Speaking of men I love, last night I went to see Mongol Horde. I'm still blind drunk, seeing double at work, but totally worth it. Such a f*cking brilliant gig. GtE would be proud of me. Rocked hard and ended up in the Big Red :oyea:

Good man. You know certain of the barmaids, if you offer to buy them a drink, will insist on a tequila but only if you do one too (and you pay for both). there's something about those girl's tattoos..........
