Nice to meet LE this morning, after watching him disappear in the distance with his sub 19.30(?). No idea how I got on but my lungs tell me I was quicker than when I last did it a couple of weeks ago

Half a minute quicker than last time HG, just seen results. I got 19.08 which was pleasing, 50sec off last week. Woke up to see that and the score from Elland Rd, liking it! Could only have been better if Jenifer Lawrence was all sleepy beside me but that's maybe asking too much.Harry Genshaw wrote:Nice to meet LE this morning, after watching him disappear in the distance with his sub 19.30(?). Good to meet you too HG, catch you at the track one Tuesday.

Re: The athletics/running thread
Did 14 miles today along the River Lea in beautiful early morning sunshine. Then a leisurely bike ride with the GtEs this afternoon. Even managed to squeeze in some gardening.
Earned a couple of glasses of wine tonight.

Re: The athletics/running thread
I think you have! I rested today, will do 6M tomorrow round Moses Gate on the way home from work, great sand and dirt paths which are easy on the legs. It's my old favourite run from Great Lever. Looking forward to some longer runs but have to be careful unfortunately.Gary the Enfield wrote:Did 14 miles today along the River Lea in beautiful early morning sunshine. Re: The athletics/running thread
Northern 12 stage relay at Heaton park this weekend. Initial plan was for me to run leg 2. No problem except that we have Olympian and 13:36 5k runner Tom Lancashire on leg 1!!! That would have been an almighty spanking for me after setting off in a probable lead. I've now been put on the final leg which will be nicely spaced out and I can run my own race, big relief.
I love the 6 and 12 stage relays, great events no matter where you finish in the field. We were dead last in the National 6, but still glad we qualified and went.
