Should be opening with Leach!*

*i’m still not entirely serious about this as a suggestion but remain curious as to its effectiveness and won’t shut up about it until an opening partnership gets past 20!

Root being ruined basically opening. Denly not good enough to be protected. Roy experiment can't last much longer.

An opener? Denly? If you're not getting runs you might as well face balls.

Lets just be frank. Burns, Denly, Roy, Buttler, Root (in his current form) - are not good enough. Not by a long chalk. You can perm them any order you like. They can't bat.

And Stokes has just thrown it away.

"They can't bat" obviously isn't true of Root and Buttler (and looks harsh on Burns). They're in bad nick but it isn't helping Root that he's basically opening. Need someone to face balls, see out the new ball. Instead our v good middle order are having to basically play at the top.

Jesus that Stokes dismissal is dreadful.

I've just seen Stokes dismissal - he did well to reach it wtf was he thinking? I'll allow Stokes a bad 'un.

Looking at the top order, Roy, Root, Denly, Bairstow and Buttler all struggling for form at the moment - although I'd also give Bairstow a bit of breathing space after his 50 last go, but that's too many people out of form.

Oh FFS leave it! Today ends with them 150-1 and 250 ahead.

Root got a good one, Burns a touch unlucky. Other three utterly moronic. Jos to nick off almost immediately.

If he batted at 4 he would have been in 2 balls later.

In his defence his wicket was a good ball. The rest of it is a joke. Stokes FFS!

Looks a dream to bowl on tbf, moving that perfect half bat width off the pitch.

But use your fecking heads. Don't play at things you don't need to!

Root made it a good ball by not moving his feet anywhere. Basic stuff. Got to get forwards off the crease line.

Before I get too suicidal we're only 120 behind...

Root on current form - Buttler on current form. They are just walking wickets. When you bowl a side out for 179 at Headingley you have to wear them down. Instead in 2 hours we've lost the test match and the Ashes.

All Australia are doing is bowling in a really disciplined manner.

Just come in from the weekly shop.....wtf..?

Our front end batsmen should go in at 7,8,9 and 10. How much worse can it be?
