I must admit, it was only when i started working in 1979 that i started to use the word 'barm', mostly because i worked round salford at the time.

Up to then i'd always called them flour cakes. But i am quite old -ish. :)

I was brought up on mffins not barms, though they were sometimes referred to as such. Then again, my dad is a manc and my mum a jock so what chance did I have :roll:
