It was across the road from that monstrosity that is the new Trinity Street station - right next to Trinity Church.forestBolton wrote:That was really amazing to flip through. TBH, I wish there were more.
I'd love to have seen a more insightful view into what the old Trinity Street Station used to look like before it was demolished. I'd also like to know exactly where it was as I can't work it out!

Exactly where though? Are we talking about behind Trinity Church, like if you turn right off Trinity Street coming from Sainsbury's and head towards that small roundabout? Or is it like where Do it all used to be?Zulus Thousand of em wrote:It was across the road from that monstrosity that is the new Trinity Street station - right next to Trinity Church.forestBolton wrote:That was really amazing to flip through. Agree with you about our existing train station.

No, straight facing the new station. At the top of the hill - between Manchester Road and Trinity Church. I think it's just a wall now.forestBolton wrote:Exactly where though? The station extended all the way down Trinity Street after Trinity Church to Manchester Road. The main entrance came first then a long wall that harboured the marshalling yards including a turntable. The clock tower that is now opposite Trinity Church used to be at the Manchester Road end of the main concourse. Opposite the station in the middle of Trinity Street a walk-bridge used to run from there across to Great Moor Street (beside St Patricks Church).

If you have a few days to spare, you'll find old Bolton (including Trinity Street Station) in abundance. Wonderful site at:forestBolton wrote: Exactly where though?
