iPhone Apps
Moderator: Zulus Thousand of em
went round this evening to a neighbour of one of my churches - he lives next to one of our halls and had phoned me up to complain about a pumping Drum 'n Base teenagers party we booked a couple of weeks ago - apparently it was so loud he couldn't hear his telly - and went on until "all hours"...
anyway - he proudly showed me his new i-phone and told me he'd downloaded an app so that next time it happens he can measure the decibel level!
I thought of you all and sighed a little!

App haters gonna love this but I just got the Sleep Cycle app, put the phone in the corner of the bed and it measures movement in the mattress and therefore ---_supposedly_ how deep your sleep is
Went to bed / woke up: 01:13 / 09:00
Total time: 7h 46m
I got up for a piss about 745 but don't remember moving in the night obviously.
The app is supposed to start waking you up at the best part of the cycle within half an hour of your alarm time (in my case it was 9am today), but it has to get used to me for a couple of days apparently.
Anyway should be interesting if I ever remember to set it after I've been on the sauce.

In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

Since I live on my own maybe that's for the best.

Can't remember if I mentioned it, but the "OpenFeint" app is like XBOX LIVE, achievements, friends etc, but the standalone app also has a free game every day, sometimes they are pretty good too.
Also, Street Fighter IV is on sale on iTunes for 3 days only, from £6.99 it's now £3.99. Worth it but only if you can cope with on screen joysticks, I can't, but it's still a very very impressive game.

The missus dowloaded a running app.. Basically it tracks you via GPS and when you get home you plug it in, it shows you the route, the distance in miles and kilometers, plus any hilly inclines, your estimated calorie burn and wether or not you stopped for a slash. Gives you your quickest and slowest kilometer etc... Brilliant application
