Just so long as we don't have to watch you throw something ..... or reverse park.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".

Tell you what GG I'll give you a chance. I'll let you know my race number so you can try and spot me on the day. As I run past you can try and kick my arse which should spur me over the line. Just make sure you're stood at the corner of Birdcage Walk and The Mall. ;0)

Think I got the slipper in primary school for something like throwing a pot of paint at one of the girls in my class.
Makes me smirk reading this thread though, according to some, kids today are "out of control" and would be so much better behaved if teachers could cane/slipper/beat them mercilessly....Seems that the evidence in this thread suggests that is most definitely NOT the case!

Oh, I don't know, my Insane friend. Children are children after all is said and done. The main difference is that if there are no consequences for misbehaviour (including physical action for the more serious offences) then where is the deterrent for those who ignore the verbal dressing downs to which teaching staff (and parents) are these days confined. It seems that there will always be a very small minority that ignores any sort of retribution and, in effect, become the recidivists of the future. The rest, the vast majority, learn by their mistakes and the consequences of such.BWFC_Insane wrote: . . . Considering the stuff people got up to, as admitted in this thread, when such deterrents were very much present, myself included, I'm not sure that argument holds up.Dujon wrote:Oh, I don't know, my Insane friend.
