South Park is good, Ali G was funny when he first came out but got boring, Mitchell and Webb are alright.

I'll let you off with them.

But how DARE you call the Mighty Boosh bollocks!

Best live show ever.

The US version of The Office is amazing.

Don't watch the first series as they went along with the UK style of things.

In the second series they let Steve Carell write it, and it's just pant wetting funny.

I think it starts on ITV2 soon.

Gervais live. I'm still bitter I can't reclaim those hours. Just pathetically unfunny.

Not for the first time I realise I'm off another planet.

I like Friends (I hope being a girl excuses this)
I think Peter Kay is very very funny

However, I find Only Fools a bit dull and I can't bear Skinner and Baddiel

I forgot - Alan Partridge, no idea why people rave about that (the bloke who plays him is an irritating so and so too), My Hero (the bloke in Father Ted was in it), Only Fools and Horses, sorry but sometimes it is very very good but 90% of the time I sit their cringing, personally I've always thought it was overated.

Legend. Rossiter was a genius. Rigsby and Reggie Perrin were all time evergreens (forgive the double usage).

Carry On films. Sexual innuendo is funny on occasion. It should not be the basis for about 6000 films. They're like Robin Askwith films without the nudity. Pointless.

Muck Kudos there, Enzo. Never enjoyed a single Carry On film. It was the same script in different surroundings repeated about 30 times. Dull dull dull dull.

In recognition of 'Terry & June'.....I'll raise you with 'Dear John'......

I'll see your "Dear John" with "Keeping Up Appearances" and raise you with "The Les Dennis Laughter Show" (a title that must have been intentionally ironic)

Okay....

I'll see your bet with 'Upstairs Downstairs' and raise you with 'It'll Be Alright On the Night' (a poor filler for Saturday evening when ITV had run out of budget to make a half-decent drama).

Seems from a read of this that comedy doesn't date too well... stuff like carry on / On the buses / Terry and June.. has to be viewed in the context of the time and the social circumstances of the times...

We're all so knowing now.....

But I don't get or like little Britain..

Caps, you've turned into the Panorama of the message boards and edited my quote to suit your own purpose. The "pointless" related to Robin Askwith films without nudity.

I do agree with you about something you said in a previous post though. Can't believe people are slagging off Ronnie Barker. Possibly the greatest comic actor this country has produced. Porridge is perhaps the greatest British sitcom of all time.

On the other hand, the less said about his 80s vehicle, Clarence, the better.

Will and Grace

Running around screaming and flapping your hands in silly voices is not, has not been and never will be funny in any way, shape or form ever.

And from this side of the pond, anyone remember Bottle Boys with Robin Askwith? 'kin 'ell, that was poor.
