Re: Where are you going tonight?
Might do a bit of shopping at lunch time...it's snowing not very heavily now, supposed to kick off properly in a few hours...Might just curl up in the office as I'm going to be here very late anyway. At least it's warm.

Don't worry over here we are supposed to panic because from Wednesday onwards we may/might/probably won't get up to 6cm of snow!KeyserSoze wrote:half eleven here now

I often wonder if they cannot get the local weather right even when it is virtually on top of them, are some of these comics to be believed about

A light dusting. What an anticlimax.

Yeah - I have to say I'm a bit underwhelmed with that given the "end of the world snow" that was advertised last night.

Can't believe that everything is shut down - no subways so walked to work, couldn't even get a coffee on the way in! Nothing's open! And I'm one of two people who've come in out of a 500-odd office. Barstewards.

The Metro (subway) is one thing we always keep open whatever the weather. I don't understand closing public transport down. Southern softies in NYC I guess (just like Toronto).KeyserSoze wrote:They were forecast the worst of it i think, seems a bit more excitingMontreal Wanderer wrote:Of course things may be more exciting in Boston.Worthy4England wrote:Yeah - I have to say I'm a bit underwhelmed with that given the "end of the world snow" that was advertised last night.

We would have ground to a complete stop with snow like that, 90% of the Muppets on our roads cannot drive correctly with dry warm roads never mind an inch of snow and a bit of ice.KeyserSoze wrote:unimpressive snow

Just been to Accrington Stanley v Bury. We were main sponsors and I got asked to pick the man of the match and present him with a bottle of plonk. Much to his own surprise I selected Accrington's no. 7, Shay McCartan. What he doesn't know is that the reason I selected him was because he was the only player on the pitch wearing black boots. This is important.

Well done Brucie! Glad to see someone flying the flag for common sense.
Last night I was at Gray's for a dinner where Ken Clarke and Joshua Rozenberg were guests. #Lawcelebs

Just been in France...and it snowed...and yes, you guessed it... the country ground to a halt for a day.thebish wrote:puts the lie to this "the Brits don't know what weather is" bollox!KeyserSoze wrote:They were forecast the worst of it i think, seems a bit more excitingMontreal Wanderer wrote:Of course things may be more exciting in Boston.Worthy4England wrote:Yeah - I have to say I'm a bit underwhelmed with that given the "end of the world snow" that was advertised last night.

Of course, with the added benefit of laughing at all the f*cking mental French drivers who had driven into ditches. Its 3 foot deep in snow, take your foot off the accelerator for a second, you're allowed!

Phoenix Nights yesterday evening at the Arena. Brilliant show, tears running down face funny, including most if not quite all the characters for the TV series. Kenny Dalgliesh doing Britney Spears is forever seared into my memory.
