Argue with the vast body of research. Smoking is bad for you. For many it gives them a terminal disease. In others it contributes to indirectly to the quickening and/or worsening of other conditions. In other lucky people it merely reduces their life expectancy some over what it would be if they didn't smoke and has a small negative effect on their day to day health.TANGODANCER wrote:I'm quite prepared to treat that as the absolute gobbledegookeric paranoiaic twaddle that it is. I spent eight weeks in a wheelchair and on a walking stick from going for a paddle in a boat. How I wish I'd lay on the beach and smoked cigarettes instead.BWFC_Insane wrote:There is a difference as well in that you can drive without a seatbelt everyday and do absolutely no harm to yourself whatsoever.
However smoke a cigarette just once a day and you are actually doing yourself harm without question.
What is not arguable anymore is that it is indeed bad for people's health.

Re: Today I'm happy about......
well... you didn't pass your test THAT long ago - and it is a check that would certainly have been mentioned when you learned to drive and you have taken the deliberately risky decision NOT to bother checking your tyres - a risk you have chosen to take... maybe because you can't be bothered...Gooner Girl wrote: But not deliberately dangerous.
it could be said that this is deliberate behaviour on your part - and that's extremely stupid, what if you had an accident? Why would you take the risk of leaving your children mother-less?

It was quite a while ago actually - and they didn't teach us how to check tyres, but you're right, perhaps I should be more mechanically aware. Still maintain its not as stupid as you thoughthebish wrote:well... you didn't pass your test THAT long ago - and it is a check that would certainly have been mentioned when you learned to drive and you have taken the deliberately risky decision NOT to bother checking your tyres - a risk you have chosen to take... maybe because you can't be bothered...Gooner Girl wrote: But not deliberately dangerous.

How can you use it if you're not on it?thebish wrote:of course not! but i have seen it and used it.Gooner Girl wrote: You're on Pinterest?!
Has to be said it appears to be largely used by females and gay men though.
Re: Today I'm happy about......
i followed one of your links and ended up on someone's crafty-site which included an idea that i adapted to make my world famous under-the-stairs tiny cubby hole shoe-hanging organiser-system...Gooner Girl wrote:How can you use it if you're not on it?thebish wrote:of course not! but i have seen it and used it.Gooner Girl wrote: You're on Pinterest?!
