I can sense they toyed with the idea of two exclamation marks. Worse though, it has 'Section C- My perception of personal development......C.1 The means of communication available provide enough information--------Strongly Agree etc..." What in the name of Coyle does that mean? It's ludicrously management speak bollocks if it even had context, but that is literally it. I have no idea what that means.

It's a bit of a bad period right now, but firms use things like this to assess possible bonuses and not to just wind you up and waste time. Ethics and morals are just as important whatever you're doing ,managing directors or bin men (that doesn't include ours, of course, who have none of either)

BUT - I really can't understand why this should be part of your rant... They make boilers - YES! presumably they sell them too - and employ people to make them... and have commercial dealings with the world..

is it not important that in all of that - their dealings with the world and you as employees that they have high ethical and moral standards? ie. - they don't rip you off??

LK gets it. A company may follow all the environmental and employment laws, they may have good bosses who want their staff to be happy as well as making money for the company, but the 'group' does not have 'high moral and ethical standards'.

The work is boring and the pay isn't great, but I'm not complaining, there are people far worse off, and as ever in that kind of job, the workmates make or break it, and they are fine, but the corporate world I don't think is ever where I'll end up. I could not take being around that kind of ludicrous language all the time. I honestly couldn't keep a straight face whilst asking somebody if the means of communication provide enough information on the ethical policy of the company going forward. I'd either laugh or explode.

That I can understand! I spent most of the summer filling in application forms for graduate schemes in all variety of areas of business and commerce and it made me want to die. I just don't think I am cut out for it. Instead the plan is to do one of those there law conversions. Because the law is well renowned for it's plainly spoken English. Even then I think you have to deal with people who talk like that. I'll try not to kill them. Though at least if I did I'd save on legal fees.

I was confused by this at first, then I realised that you must have meant loft conversions, that you could do on your own.
