Good morning. Well, that's week one of the C to 5K out of the way
Unaccustomed as I am with being around at this time on a Saturday, let alone sans hangover, what do people do?

A good coffee, leisurely breakfast and a paper or good book. Simple pleasure

48 hours r & r now. No more 1,000 calorie sessions now, least not for a good few weeks anyhow.

Re: The athletics/running thread
you may laugh - but there ARE people on MFP who really do log housework (ordinary washing up - not scrubbing the floors of an entire hotel!) and cooking as calorie-burning exercise... then they eat something with those "earned" calories - then go on the forums to bitch and moan that they are not losing any weight...Bruce Rioja wrote:More than the aforementioned run, I'd wagerPrufrock wrote:How many calories did that burnBruce Rioja wrote:I cleaned the kitchen insteadAbdoulaye's Twin wrote:A good coffee, leisurely breakfast and a paper or good book. Morning all.
Well my Ironman 70.3 didn't kill me.
I finished in 5:56:20 It was absolutely brilliant. Well organised and flat course ( apart from a little lump on the bike course, which we had to do twice)
Two days later and I'm still grinning. Roll on Bolton 2015!

(what you describe as a "little lump" would probably appear as an insurmountable hill to most of us!)

What he describes as a little lump has its own funicular rail track. The man's mad!thebish wrote:Gary the Enfield wrote:Morning all.

Great stuff & good early prep for the big one. My brother in law has just signed up for it too. He's a reasonable triathlete, relatively new to the sport. Like me, he was amazed at the shape of some of the iron men last year but unlike me has thought "if they can do it...". A brave decision, he's not even ran a half marathonGary the Enfield wrote:Morning all.

Re: The athletics/running thread
Cheers all. Developed a knee injury the day before and could barely walk down a flight of steps. Decided just to do the swim and bike instead. On the morning I went to the athlete village and saw a Kinesio tape specialist. I was a little sceptical at first but she strapped my knee and I had NO problem with it whatsoever. Absolutely sold and would reccommend anyone to try it.
Still got two days in Budapest which is a BEAUTIFUL city and so friendly and safe (seeming)

Update: Saw my physio today after getting back. Seems my knee niggle is a damaged meniscus (sp)
No running for four to six weeks.

That really is a good advert for that tape stuff! 4 to 6 weeks in the pool and on the bike to look forward to?

Bummer. Hope it clears up without further issues. One of the beauties of triathlon I suppose is that you have 2 other things to go at. I just sit on my lazy arse.Gary the Enfield wrote:Update: Saw my physio today after getting back. Seems my knee niggle is a damaged meniscus (sp)

Good luck with it.

So that'll see you running again in week 41 (latest) just in time for the Parkrun at the end of week 43. Get in.
Last run in week two of C to 5K for me tonight. Wednesday's felt quite easy, which I was glad about.
