Have they not pulled it then? Gave up on it after the second one.BWFC_Insane wrote:10 O' Clock live. Getting better each week.

Did anyone watch Bedlam, I tried to but could not work out what was going on so gave up.
My dog (proper 57) had his anal glands emptied once and yes the smell is something to behold!!

It's just missing Ben Elton being on it, saying "right on" lots of times.
I think BWFCI has a point. It looks deliberately designed as an antidote to the "brainless right wing tabloid media". Unfortunately, they've followed the wrong recipe and got some people presenting it - discussed ad infinitum - that aren't very funny. Everyone's going to dislike at least one or more of the presenters...Assuming they're over the age of 16 and have a brain.
Oh it's also been generally slated by the left wing and right wing "educated" press too. Lots.

I think those that criticise in the main will be those that enjoy reading the Star/Sun and think that the brown man living next door should "do one".
Is just my view anyways.
I think they are getting the balance right between funny and serious, which is a bit of a delicate balance to achieve.

I shall remember from now on, that anyone who disagrees with my point of view is a thick, racist, Sun reader.BWFC_Insane wrote:Its got plenty of praise recently. Someone doesn't like your brand of un-comedy, so they must be thick, racist, scum? I don't think it's funny, don't read the Star or the Sun and don't live next door to a brown man. It's been widely slated in many papers.

They forgot to include the funny bit in that balance.

startlingly judgemental and wide of the mark.BWFC_Insane wrote: I think those that criticise in the main will be those that enjoy reading the Star/Sun and think that the brown man living next door should "do one".
here's a much simpler explanation..
some people just don't find the same comedians to be as funny as you do - end of.

I thought it was alright. Particularly the Jimmy Carr/bankers thing.
Its just telly though.

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Sorry I genuinely did not explain well what I meant. I meant those who criticise it as being "overtly liberal" and "biased".thebish wrote:startlingly judgemental and wide of the mark.BWFC_Insane wrote: I think those that criticise in the main will be those that enjoy reading the Star/Sun and think that the brown man living next door should "do one".

Re: What are you watching tonight?
watched the old True Grit and then the new one again. The original is ok, but the new one is infinitely better and probably my favourite of all this years the best picture noms, its just ace.
Wanna read the book now too.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Watched "Body of Lies". Thought it pretty decent although I always have trouble seeing Di Caprio as a hard-man character. The lad can act though.
Si Deus pro nobis, quis contra nos?
Re: What are you watching tonight?
not sure why it is "lefties" who always attract the "unwashed" tag... I went past a gaggle of NF/BNP agitators yesterday in Barking - and they stunk real bad!Hoboh wrote:BWFC_Insane wrote:10 O' Clock live. Getting better each week.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
You misunderstand... For hoboh 'unwashed' is a term of endearment... And the 'nanny' state has him quivering with excitement... Every other person is called Harriet...thebish wrote:not sure why it is "lefties" who always attract the "unwashed" tag...
