Wife full of a cold today, only wanted soup. Fear not, Farnworth's answer to Gordon Ramsey will see to his own tea.
Peeled two decent sized potatoes and sliced into full rounds; bit less than quarter of an inch thick. Sliced half a raw onion into same rounds. Fried potatoes (okay, flat chips) till light golden brown. Salt and vinegar for all. Whacked two slices of potato onto half a slice of Lurpak'd toastie loaf. Added raw onion rings. Topped with two more slices of potato and a lid of the other half slice of bread. Consumed. Did another twice.
Very Desperate Dan and not recommended in front of company, but...Tangotastic.

Tonight, I will be doing some of the prep work for a meal I'm making for wifie and me.
Tonight is terrine prep - not tried a terrine before - and tiramisu prep - not tried a tiramisu before.
Tomorrow I will do beef rib, roasties and veg.
Fingers crossed.

(*that is no one has called me up the next day to tell me they were dead)
Yes - I generally cross my fingers everytime I embark on operational activity in the kitchen - outside of normal every day fare.

My straw potatoes with lemon zest were quite a surprise...

It's to get away from using them (and I'd need the one for Worsley rather than Bolton) - that I've decided I'm going to spend the day cooking.Wandering Willy wrote:You'll be needing this.

Within 20 minutes of finishing Brucie as your metabolism will absorb that in a jiffy! No harm done.
