Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Jules Holland and his RnBO are playing Clitheroe Castle on Friday. I'm currently doing the logistics/practicalities. I can get a train from BX.Bijou Bob wrote:Cartmel Racecourse tonight. Jules Holland, picnic, sunshine. Thank you NMB, well planned.

Well worth seeing if you can. They were at Llangollen 2 years ago & back again this time too. Maybe your mate could get you there.Bruce Rioja wrote:Jules Holland and his RnBO are playing Clitheroe Castle on Friday. I'm currently doing the logistics/practicalities. Excellent gig in gorgeous sunshine. Eclectic mix of music and to my absolute delight, Selecta did a 3 song slot. Absolutely first class night out. Do it Bruce.

The Farm are also on so I'll probably nip for a shit when those tuneless Scouse nice people are on.

Played a round of golf at Regents Park today. Christ it was hot.
Most i've enjoyed playing. I'm still awful but i'm now hitting decent shots and playing with a smile on my face (most of the time) Also parred a hole on a course for the first time. Woop!

Re: Where are you going tonight?
Got back on Friday from a few days in Amsterdam. Lovely city. Phone reckons we walked 43km in 3 days! Along canals and in and out of cafes. Only off point was a trip to the red light district to have a look. One of the grimmest places I've ever been. Don't know what I was expecting but I thought it would be camp and kitschy. Instead it was just depressing.
In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

It certainly benefits from being seen at night (& not in these long-daylight days).Prufrock wrote:Got back on Friday from a few days in Amsterdam. Lovely city. Phone reckons we walked 43km in 3 days! Why would you suppose an area with the major objective of selling sex would be "camp and kitschy?" - it's not Disneyland...bobo the clown wrote:It certainly benefits from being seen at night (& not in these long-daylight days).Prufrock wrote:Got back on Friday from a few days in Amsterdam. Last time I was there, there were more black fella's trying to sell me drugs than there were women trying to sell me sex. What used to be this titillating tourist magnet really is now the most seedy, crime-ridden place on earth.Worthy4England wrote:Why would you suppose an area with the major objective of selling sex would be "camp and kitschy?" - it's not Disneyland...bobo the clown wrote:It certainly benefits from being seen at night (& not in these long-daylight days).Prufrock wrote:Got back on Friday from a few days in Amsterdam.
