That'd be funny as fook. But they've already got an old boiler presenting that anyway.BWFC_Insane wrote:Bit of a late one, but I'm still angry so....
Michael Gove, basically for being Michael Gove.
On Question time on Thursday there were a number of teachers/headteachers in the audience, most of whom claimed to have voted Conservative, but all disagreed with his education reform plans. Did he listen to these people who have considerable expertise and were voicing valid concerns? Did he fook.
At which point I switched off as I couldn't look at his pasty white arrogant face any longer.
But since then I was browsing news and came across this.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... ughby.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
With this great Gove quote in....
Now Mr Gove I'm sure you would, but could you tell me when the BBC are required to get any sort of "message" from you about what and who YOU'D like to see on your screen? Indeed I agree with the general point about ageism and fair representation on the BBC. But as his two examples he's picked Willoughby an ITV employee and Fearne Cotton, a radio presenter and presenter of predominantly "youth TV shows". Is he suggesting that Selina Scott presents the Brits or Joanna Lumley presents Glastonbury or somesuch?'I hope that everyone at the BBC gets the message. I would rather see Selina Scott and Joanna Lumley on my TV screens than Holly Willoughby and Fearne Cotton.’
Grrrr.

I'm not sure why anyone around who can recall Glasto's roots, 40 years ago, would want to be associated with the commercialized bollocks it's become.
Jay Zee, Snoop Dogg and Lady Gaga, for feck* sake. What's all that about?

That's just a high-profile part of a very good festival that still has some great acts on if you search them out.Worthy4England wrote:I'm not sure why anyone around who can recall Glasto's roots, 40 years ago, would want to be associated with the commercialized bollocks it's become.

Unless it's got Tull, the Amazing Blondel or Budgie on it won't be worth going anyway.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Quite correct sir. It's all about commercialism nowadays. Which is probably why it attracts so much shite.Gary the Enfield wrote:bobo the clown wrote:Yeah ... let the kids have their own festival.Worthy4England wrote:I know, but it's just wrong I tells you.ratbert wrote:That's just a high-profile part of a very good festival that still has some great acts on if you search them out.Worthy4England wrote:I'm not sure why anyone around who can recall Glasto's roots, 40 years ago, would want to be associated with the commercialized bollocks it's become.

And like with the education reform, all those working in the field, the experts, even the GP's the supposed main beneficiaries of the new system are telling the government they're getting it wrong.Prufrock wrote:Some cnut trying to take half-arsed free market ideas and apply it to the fecking NHS. But are they listening? Are they feck.
Obviously they know more than people with millions years combined healthcare delivery/educational knowledge.

Sorry?? Thought brown nose was the great social ingerneer, the bloke who would make the "better" parts of glasgow like mayfair, and put poor misunderstood hoodies on every street corner with more "rights" than you can shake a stick at.
Whatever happened to the good old ban the bomb looney lefties? at least they provided some entertainment and could have been shoved to the front line as first defence against the commies

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Ahh yes Gordon Brown, who as chancellor continued that well known socialist policy of free market self regulated banking he had copied from the governments of well known mard arsed leftie Maggie Thatcher.

Clearly you don't understand. The folk saying it won't work, are the GP's who would be given greater financial control and even more freedom.Hoboh wrote:BWFC_Insane wrote:And like with the education reform, all those working in the field, the experts, even the GP's the supposed main beneficiaries of the new system are telling the government they're getting it wrong.Prufrock wrote:Some cnut trying to take half-arsed free market ideas and apply it to the fecking NHS.
