Big chunk off that Bruce, well done. I managed to add 2mins 25 secs to last week's time, mainly due to a noted lack of abstinence on fri night! You'll be cracking 30 soon. Flying the flag as well with the BWFC shirt, good stuff.

That's fantastic Bruce. Well done you.
My personal milestone this weekend was a first pool swim since the op. 1.25 km done with no ill effect.

Re: The athletics/running thread
Very generous comments, Chaps. Thank-you. I think I'm going to have to start including more uphill into my midweek runs though as there was absolutely nothing left in my legs yesterday and if I'm going to improve on it then it's got to come from somewhere.
Glad to see that the re-hab's underway unhindered, GtE.

Re: The athletics/running thread
After a combination of injuries and lack of motivation I finally got back on the fells today. A very slow and ponderous trot in the wind and hail up to the reservoir and round to the back of the mast, down to 2 lads, round the quarry and back to the car on matchmoor lane. Just short of 7 miles, so something to build on. If I can be arsed

Good man Brucie!
If you're still knocking 2 mins a go off it means there's plenty more to come too which should be plenty motivation to keep going

Just done a Friday morning 5K (day off, see) and apparently I've now clocked up 150K since Sept 14th. That's about from here to Birmingham, isn't it?

Putting me to shame.
F*cking itching I am and you're sneaking in 5K'ers when no-one's looking.
Utter bastard.

Really looking forward to seeing you when you're fit, mate. Parkrun tomorrow, albeit on the back of a heavy session in Mancunia this evening.

Good luck. Just don't expect a PB on a bellyful of beer. That pram-pushing Mum's gonna be kicking your arse again.

I then proved them right by going for a run, falling over heavily on sheet ice at the bottom of a hill and having to go to A&E for Xrays (via Barnstormers and today's match).Bruce Rioja wrote:Cancelled due to a frozen circuit. Up early for nowt. Boooooooooo!
All clear thankfully!

See, Our Kid said "Shall we just do it anyway?" and I had to point out to him that they'd called it off for a reason. Glad you're alright, mate.LeverEnd wrote:I then proved them right by going for a run, falling over heavily on sheet ice at the bottom of a hill and having to go to A&E for Xrays (via Barnstormers and today's match).Bruce Rioja wrote:Cancelled due to a frozen circuit. Just been for another 5K and have decided I need to put more hills in my run. I'm utterly flabbergasted at how easily I've just ran up Hough Fold Way.

Yep. Up for that. Very much doubt that I'll be doing the NYD one though. We'll see.LeverEnd wrote:Pre Huddersfield game parkrun anyone? I expect Bruce will be there, what about the Usual Suspect?

I quite fancy that. Dragged myself out of bed the other Saturday when it was called off so I'm due one.LeverEnd wrote:Pre Huddersfield game parkrun anyone? I expect Bruce will be there, what about the Usual Suspect?
