Everything is local these days of the wired planet! Mind you, I did have a girlfriend from Atherton back in the 1960s - they knew how to spell Leigh then.Bruce Rioja wrote:We so benefit from your local knowledge, Monty.Montreal Wanderer wrote:Absolutely correct - just before Sumner St. You can see Atherton Tackle and the Milky Bar to the left.Bruce Rioja wrote:Market Street, Atherton, I beleive.Bijou Bob wrote:Ha ha ha ha where is that??

I really, really hope they find something on this whinging disgrace for a woman! As the founder of the charity, Camila Batmanghelidjh, blamed “rumour-mongering” civil servants, ministers and the media for the closure, it emerged that Whitehall officials are frantically trying to arrange alternative support for thousands of the most at risk young people helped by her organisation.

I hope not - I think she has done some fantastic work. I have witnessed some of it (in the early years) reaching kids that absolutely nobody gave a toss about.Hoboh wrote:I really, really hope they find something on this whinging disgrace for a woman! As the founder of the charity, Camila Batmanghelidjh, blamed “rumour-mongering” civil servants, ministers and the media for the closure, it emerged that Whitehall officials are frantically trying to arrange alternative support for thousands of the most at risk young people helped by her organisation.

It's not looking like that though is it? Tales of junkie kids being given cash amongst other things, fat salaries, government money being pumped in, high power trustees hovering around BBC studios when the charity is subject to investigation, there is defiantly a bonfire under this one.thebish wrote:I hope not - I think she has done some fantastic work.
