People who want this prior to being 65 should move to Wales !!

It's not worth it, but you do get free prescriptions. They've fckd up the NHS finances to achieve it, but otherwise it's good news.

You don't have to pay to park in hospital car parks either.

Just as well, as having spent 5 hours waiting in A&E the other weekend (with my lad who'd gashed his leg playing football) without getting treated, I'd have been even more livid if I'd have had to have paid for the parking. As it was, we gave up waiting and drove to a hospital in England, where within an hour he'd been stitched up and we were on our way.
Hope is what keeps us going.

Talking about TV programs returning, did you see or hear David Jason doing the publicity rounds (new book out) yesterday? Open All Hours is returning for a one-off Chrimbo special. Arkwright is dead, of course, so Granville has inherited the shop, now called 'Granvilles", and has also picked up all of Arkwrights little mannerisms. Sounds good to me!

I missed Open All Hours first time around. I don't know why; can't remember if there was a rival programme on (as back then of course, there was none of this 'on demand' stuff), whether I was out the country, or in one of my didn't watch TV phases.

Shouldn't David Jason have learned about doing one-off Christmas shows after that dreadful return to Only Fools and Horses?

I may be wrong here, but wasn't the second funniest thing they did in Only Fools in a Christmas special - that thing where he whacked the pin holding the chandelier, and the wrong one fell out of the ceiling? (the funniest being when David Jason nonchalantly leant on the opened counter flap). :D

It may well have, but there's one return that they did a few years after it had stopped running, in which they lost their money and ended up back in the flat where they'd started. That's why he should know better - the game's up.

That wasn't just the worst episode of OF&H that there'd ever been, it was the poorest attempt at television comedy ever. It's since been equaled in its shitness by Arthur Strong and Mrs Brown though, I'd say.

I'd need free drugs to move to Wales.

Pre-Assembly and partial independence. A horse of a very different colour.

Plus I CAN see Chester from the upstairs room, so it doesn't really count.
