What are you watching tonight?

Of The Sopranos? Series one? I tried it once, got about one and a half through. I liked it, but didn't love it. Started again and barely watched anything else recently. Now you know Omar is in it you defo wont stop. Even though he is on screen for about 30 secs.

If they can persuade him to 'forgive' her she will be released. If not, stoned. In the meantime they are allowed into her prison each night to sleep in her cell.

And then the prison governor forbids their admittance. It's winter. It's cold. bitterly so.

What do the kids do?

This is, frankly, a mess of a film, edited without skill, and with a story that is hampered by the presence of an actual stray dog the kids have adopted, and really doesn't quite stack up.

But partner and i were gripped from beginning to end. And moved.

No triviality.

So what? That story sounds absolutely gripping and I'll watch it for that reason.
Just didn't want to say it is a brilliant movie when it ain't - we were, as you can see, gripped... And would advocate seeing it... Got it via lovefilm, so you're well placed to get it, be really interested to know your take on it...

Yep, this is my viewing of choice on the tellybox right now too, though I'm only halfway through season one. Still can't believe I managed to let this brilliant show pass me by when it first came out.

Tonight I'll be watching 'United' on BBC 2. About the busby babes and the Munich disaster. It's been getting outstanding previews this weekend as a powerful drama.

Followed by MoTD2.

Not the ones that I've read, Will. Even Busby's son panned it as an absolute insult, claiming it portrayed the Busby Babes as being little more than a pub side. Apparently it even shows one of the players that died - smoking a pipe in the tunnel prior to taking the field!

i thought 'United' was excellent drama. Really well written. Handled the difficult question of actors can't play football well - by showing very little football... And, whatever the busby family said, enough survivors helped the production...

MOTD2 was also pretty good... :D

I thought it was terrible for the first half an hour to be honest. It improved dramatically after the crash though, mainly because before that it lacked anything approaching drama or like-ability. Felt that once you could sympathise with the characters though it grew stronger. The scene with Murphy and the coffins was a choker.

Still not good enough to forgive Dougray Scott's accent though.

I must say I am a massive fan of Mr McDonald. Also thought his English-ish accent as the Doctor was very decent. Murphy was Welsh though wasn't he? How did that go?

As for the film, I don't want to watch it. Genuinely horrible tragedy, and I think the worst part about our support is the obsession of a not insubstantial minority of glorifying it, but I still don't particularly want to watch something that makes me feel sympathy for that club. As something like that almost certainly would. That may sound heartless, but I just don't want to.

I thought his Welsh accent was actually pretty good, even though sometimes it came out sounding like a Scottish/Welsh hybrid tongue...
