Re: The athletics/running thread
.....and one step back.
Horrible run last night. Supposed to do 6.5 miles across farmers fields last might. Ended up doing about 4.5. Side of my knee is sore when I bend and it feels weak again. No consistency.
fecking bollocks.

Booooo. Thought I'd set a new PB for the new track this morning but was 12 seconds out. Still, there's always next week

Ooh unlucky fella. You looked like you were running well today. Perhaps some advice straight from the coaching manual might help? "Don't get 5hitfaced the night before a run"Bruce Rioja wrote:Booooo. My fastest time today on the new course so really chuffed
. I'd love to break 22 minutes before LE comes back with his sub 20s (or his sub 16s
if he gets back to his best)

Nice one, Chief. Well done. I'm not sure that we'll ever see LE back. Too ready with the excuses, that one.(though he could still beat me easily, even with his fecked calf)Harry Genshaw wrote:My fastest time today on the new course so really chuffed. Re: The athletics/running thread
I fancy that. The 5k is a lot flatter than park run so could be a chance for pbs? I imagine Penders will be entering the unicycle race?
Managed a gentle 8 miles around Rivington this morning with no ill effects

Re: The athletics/running thread
So, it would seem I'm going to be in Bolton this weekend after all. Not much time to socialise but I should be able to throw myself up Cruella a couple of times.

Nice one. You must be able to manage a brekky surely? You got to have some reward after CruellaGary the Enfield wrote:So, it would seem I'm going to be in Bolton this weekend after all. Not much time to socialise but I should be able to throw myself up Cruella a couple of times.

Did a track session last night. 5 x 600m, 4 x 500m and 4 x 400m. Wasn't fit enough to do the whole set

I'll see.
Your session sounds tough. I swam 2k and ran 2k again last night. My swim time was over a minute faster than last week (46.08)

Re: The athletics/running thread
Finally heard back from the club regarding the Full Kit Wankers / Speedo 10K jobbie (well, after issuing a reminder
)
Hi Zola Budd,
Sorry for the delay in getting back in touch.
Let me check with the retail team here at the club I’ll see what they can do.
Thanks,
Dan
(I wonder if it's our Dan and he's been busy on the slammers?
)

Re: The athletics/running thread
Sounds vaguely promising. At least it wasn't an outright no.
In other news. Can't be arsed doing tomorrow's PR. Still feeling a little bit stiff/sore in my legs and lower back. May come down to watch and for brekkers, if I can be bothered to get out of bed. I've quite enjoyed a week of lying in bed until late and fancy extending it for a couple more days.
