ooooh you got tickets eh? nice.
i've not seen Idlewild in years. which floor were they on? top floor - smallest room?
last gig i went to was Tool & Mastodon at the Arena, Tool's performance was one of the best i've ever seen.
scratch that i went to see Burnst, Kong and These Arms Are Snakes on Thursday night and they were all cream, especially Kong.

Incredibly, yes. The last band that I saw up there were Sebadoh. How come they didn't just switch it to the bigger room downstairs as soon as the little room had sold-out is anyone's guess.Dr Hotdog wrote:ooooh you got tickets eh? nice.

May the bridges I burn light your way
yeah, if they don't upgrade it to the bigger venue it's usually because there's already something booked, but if there was nothing on and Idlewild were in the building it should be expected that it'd get moved. i reckon it was the band's choice to keep it in the Hop and Grape and as intimate as possible.

Possibly. I did wonder if it was a warm-up gig ahead of a big support slot or something. Anyway, your man said that they're doing The Academy 1 in March, so that's one for the diary. Last night The Academy 1 was home to The Levellers. There were some incredible sights to be seen coming in and out of there I can tell you.
I'm at Boy Kill Boy on Wednesday so I'll let you know how that one goes.

Idlewild are coming back you say? i think i might have to have some of that, bring back some memories.
never heard Boy Kill Boy,
this Tuesday i think i'll be at Minus The Bear at Satan's Hollow, not certain yet though, might be sold-out.
next week i should be watching the Melvins in the Hop and Grape too, with Nirvana's bassist playing in the support band Flipper and also a blisteringly good band called Big Business whom i last saw at the Dog in Bolton

mostly this week i've been listening to Tangerine Dream and Focus.
