Re: What are you eating and drinking tonight?
Sometimes you've just got to go right back to basics.
Now some months ago I noticed my belly beginning to put on a wee tiny spread, so I thought before I accept the ravages of time and beer I'd try and do something about it, and therefore I resolved to stop eating luncheon at work. Indeed I went further and stopped breakfast and supper. I allowed myself 1500 calories a day, (so after I deducted the, on average, three pints a day that I allowed myself) that left enough calories for one meal at teatime. And I increased my exercise to do running on Saturdays and Sundays, every Saturday and Sunday. Plus I started doing core work exercises to develop that six-pack I've never had. Anyway, today I reached my target weight of 10 stone, and the gut is gone. So I've just celebrated:
For the first time in months, I've just eaten an entire tin of Heinz Cream of Tomato soup with a couple of doorstops of bread. The most stupendously gorgeous meal I've ever had in my lifetime, bar none.

A bit of a waste of a diet if Heinz Tomato Soup is all you've been building up to, isn't it?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Wife's making Tortilla Espanola right now. Smells lovely but I've been warned away till it's done.

You're just teasing me now. About £10 for the worst stuff that they can find here. Wouldn't even pass as vinegar for your chipsWilliam the White wrote:And octopus or squid and a bottle of chilled Albarino from Galicia (£7.99 at Sainsbury - and very good!).Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:You need some gambas ajillo and big loaf of bread and a bottle of rioja to go with thatTANGODANCER wrote:Wife's making Tortilla Espanola right now. Thar was an 'interesting' drink.
And, also from dates, an illegal but readily available arak that tasted like a combination of gin and petrol.

Osso Bucco, with a saffron risotto & a Poilly Fume.
Should fill a corner.
Should fill a corner.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
