The athletics/running thread

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

Enjoy your boozing, I'm psyching myself up for a short run along the beach. Purely for the 'fun' of it. Not timing myself or measuring distance or anything. Just enjoying warm sand between the toes and trying to ease the guilt of eating too much rubbish this holiday. Someone play the Chariots of Fire music.
It would appear that the footage of your run has been leaked!!

That's never going to happen in Bolton. There were mutterings at the mere suggestion of vegetarian sausages. If they introduce fruit there'll be no room for the Yorkshire puds!

Tough in the heat this morning and no chance of a pb.

I thought you were out for a 'gentle jog'? You could have done the parkrun and saved yourself 2.2k!! 8)

I'm going for 10k in the week. I say that now, but .........

A punishing schedule of chowder, chicken salad and pitta. Still, back on track soon with the dinner of champions - pizza and beer!

Haha. Yeah, true enough. And scored a fry-up afterwards. :D

Did it in 42 minutes as well, which is good for me, so there went the gentle jog :)

Good luck on doing a 10. Lerrus know how you get on, won't you?

Yesterday I ran 5miles around my nearest trail run. 45 minutes in 25 degree heat was no fun. Then this morning I went out for a 56km ride, completing in under two hours. With 10km to and from the start of the run I did 76km altogether.

Excellent! Any after effects?

Looking forward to tonight.

Lea Valley Open Water swim. No wetsuit tonight, just the tri-suit. Water's about 19 to 20 degrees.

Perfect evening for a swim.

blimey - I'd have been happy with the 10k there and 10k back - I'd have counted THAT as a workout! 8)

Had hoped to get a triple jump session in tonight but my coach is currently holidaying in Italy so options include a swim, a later evening hills session or sitting on the sofa munching Pringles. Hmmmm.

:D 2 out of 3 ain't bad? 1 involved exercise! Went to the pool, wanted to swim 1km but it closes early and I'm slow so only got 900m in :( That deserves a few pringles though surely?!

Couldn't face running in this heat. It's probably still snowing up your way but it's hot down south! ;)

Inspired by GtE I'm going to go and do a gym session and a 800m swim. Nursed my calf through 6 miles this morning. Then I'm going to try to avoid taking a self satisfied week off.
