No rules about treating everybody equally everybody fairly.superjohnmcginlay wrote:The Public Sector has rules? What like you must take a minumum 10 sickies a year?
I've worked on both sides and BOTH have issues with all sorts of different things.
But as a private employer you can do an awful lot you can't possibly do in the public sector.
And bringing it back to Hobohs point IF a private company wants to sack its staff it does so frequently and can do so more or less for whatever reason it likes (and still pay its top brass massive bonuses if it likes).
The public sector can't, and has to go through a whole set of hoop jumping, justifications and a whole set down process to do so, and can only do it when absolutely essential, yet when it does everyone jumps up and down about it. Hardly seems fair really!

Today I'm angry about people who try to tell you that you're not doing your job properly, despite being offered medical evidence to prove why you don't do a certain thing. Only to be given the response "it looks unprofessional". Yeah, it looks really unprofessional to not do something that offers absolutely no benefit to anybody whatsoever.
On top of the bin cock up we now have this!!!

If they cannot get the bins right stand by for chaos!!!
Cllr Ismail Ibrahim is the man responsable for all this and I urge voters in the district he represents to remember his name next polling day and do the decent thing!
On the subject of bins stand by for the blood bath!

Public apathy means people don't even care, we kind of let the council do as they please then moan a bit when the f**k it up, before forgetting about it the next day.Hobinho wrote:On top of the bin cock up we now have this!!!

Now, call me old fashioned, but how is that a "one-way system" ?stand by for chaos!!!

A ONE-WAY ring road system will be in force in Bolton town centre next year, it has been revealed.
Buses and black cabs will carry passengers anticlockwise on a ring road around the town — while other vehicles will only be allowed to travel in the opposite direction.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

When fiilling up the car, seeing one person puts fuel in the car while the other is in the queue to pay, 9/10 times the idiot in the queue is ready to pay before the other idiot filling the car up is finished.
They then look at you behind them in the queue expecting you to sympathise with their situation. No - why don't you f**k off to the back of the queue. You thought you had a system, it failed, now p*ss off. This is usually done by middle-aged couples.

I would suggest that's a very rare situation.Bruno wrote:When fiilling up the car, seeing one person puts fuel in the car while the other is in the queue to pay, 9/10 times the idiot in the queue is ready to pay before the other idiot filling the car up is finished.

It would require that EITHER the woman fills the vehicle up .... which, when there as a pair, is more or less unheard of OR the woman actually pays for the fuel. That happens about as often as Hull winning.
If it does happen my bet is that the woman queue's while the guy fills up & then rushes in to join the wife at the queue & then pays.

If that happens, then I fear for how much more anal the British public will become. Are people really that anxious not to have to wait another two minutes in order to pay for things? There are much more important things to worry about than waiting times in a queue for paying for petrol - not the sort of thing I've ever waited too long for, even in busy periods.bobo the clown wrote:I would suggest that's a very rare situation.Bruno wrote:When fiilling up the car, seeing one person puts fuel in the car while the other is in the queue to pay, 9/10 times the idiot in the queue is ready to pay before the other idiot filling the car up is finished.

With you on the petrol one - don't usually wait very long, but waiting time in queue's, in general, is a fooking nightmare. Shop online - you know it makes sense.KeeeeeeeBaaaaaaab wrote:If that happens, then I fear for how much more anal the British public will become. I love the general idea that in this day and age we are 'time deprived'. Surely it's only a matter of organising what one does? In days of yore your mum would be battling with the copper and mangle whilst these days it's push a button and walk away. In days of yore your dad would work umpteen hours a week and walk home unless he was lucky enough to find a 'bus that went vaguely near to your home. Aye, and he had to wear clogs 'n all (well, perhaps not).
It seems to me at times that I have been unfortunate to live in society which screams '"me, me" and "now, now"'. Surely, taking the example above, if you are stuck in a queue then it's your fault.
