Got to be in the bag now, this. 136-5 needing over nine per over off of the last 14?

Don't get too optimistic Bruce - remember the expert's opinions.

Oh yes. For shame, for shame. There are we, a lowly third in the ICC ODI rankings. I apologise profusely for allowing myself ideas beyond our station in the face of such expert judgement.Montreal Wanderer wrote:Don't get too optimistic Bruce - remember the expert's opinions.

Botham and Knight seemed to concur that we were pretty sh*t too at the turn around. Botham was a great cricketer, but a pi$$ poor captain. Knight was a decent County chugger but never really made the top grade.Bruce Rioja wrote:Oh yes. For shame, for shame. There are we, a lowly third in the ICC ODI rankings. Whilst it might have looked like a minimum 300 wicket before it had any cricketers on it, it clearly looked tough for the English batsmen to get it away off the wicket, against some reasonable wicket to wicket bowling from the Aussies. It's looked similarly tough for the Aussies.
I'm starting to think Cook is taking the pi$$ out of the Sky commentary team and Aggers.

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
We played much better today. Though Australia weren't up to much.
Still think we lack quite a bit in the batting department especially and for me at times our one day bowling is a bit all or nothing.
Having said that make 260 plus and we've got a chance with Anderson in that form. That's what we've got to do because our batsmen are not going to match the most explosive sides in an even foot race.

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
I don't know all the ins and outs of this fracas but it's dreadful if Warner is guilty of an unprovoked assault. In Australia we've become weary of Rugby League players getting loaded up with alcohol and doing the most disgusting things. Cricketers though? If Warner is guilty of the alleged incident then he hopefully will be on his way home and will lose his Cricket Australia contract. Further he should be barred from playing cricket for any CA accredited team for a period of at least two years. Sorry, Davey, but there's no room for thugs in a national team.
Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
my guess is it's just a bit of handbags and a stray elbow... but it will be treated as if he went out tooled up looking for a fight..Dujon wrote:I don't know all the ins and outs of this fracas but it's dreadful if Warner is guilty of an unprovoked assault. Not often an opener forms a partnership with number 10.mrkint wrote:Errr, Lancashire playing Essex atm
