As such, I've got series II stacking up on my magic Skybox thingy. Sorted.jimbo wrote:It's brilliant. Looking forward to the last one ever tonight - Better get catching up quick Bruce!

Watched Role Models yesterday.
There were a couple of funny scenes but the best laughs were reserved for the Kiss references.
''Even Paul Stanley's bored of Kiss''

Mary and Max was on Film4 last night. probably on 'on demand' if you have not seen it? its a triumph!
Re: What are you watching tonight?
Watched a documentary/film last night called Speed & Angels following two US Navy pilots from graduation, through Top Gun style training and into combat. Really enjoyed it and well worth a watch if you're into that kind of thing - it's available on youtube in 9 parts.
One of the pilots is one of the very few women to become combat pilots in the navy, whilst the other is a bloke who was shot in the head when he was younger, survived, had his face rebuilt and ended up flying jets despite being told he had no chance after that.
There's some great aerial scenes in it and interesting to see how the female pilot comes through some major struggles to learn how to land her plane on the aircraft carrier at night properly, the previous female F-14 pilot had died doing the exact same thing and you can see the pressure mounting on her to get it right. Enjoyable stuff!

what did you make of it? I'm sticking with decent enough gentle entertainment...
rather too neatly tied up for my liking - and could have done without the child-abuse scene in the study...
i'll watch the rest though...

Not now silent singer! Shearsmith's librarian character was my favourite of the series. Absolutely loved his dark side.

Great series. The Tina Turner bit was hilarious.
Mr Jelly was good too, the nurse asks if a heart monitor is too loud and he says "it's like a fu cking disco in here"

Haven't had time yet. An expected guest arrived early and left late. Training tonight so may catch the first episode later.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Watched Public Enemies last night. Cops & Robbers film - meh!
If you are going to embelish the tale of a real-life carachter (John Dillinger) then at least put a twist in the plot rather than shitting-up the love interest. He'd divorced her before he'd even robbed a bank; the film makes out something entirely different.
Two stars from ten, and that's generous.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Agreed. Such a brilliant cast and premise, but ended up being long and boring.
