Saw the Blacksticks Blue in Asda theneet and it just didn't look, well, blue enough really so picked up a chunk of Cantorel Bleu d'Auvergne. I'll see how it goes. The Garstang Blue's going in the bin - it's quite nice whilst eating it but it has an aftertaste of having just licked the top of a battery that's been marinated in piss. And it doesn't go away anytime soon either! Awful stuff.

I made woman's chicken pie recipe, which are really pasties, but I haven't the heart to tell her. Either way, it was shit hot. Weekly occurrence. We're going to be fat little f*ckers very soon. No photos though, coz this isn't Instagram, and we're not wankers.

Wife picked up some Wafer-thin, West Coutry Famhouse Cheddar from the deli department. Not for eating on its own or with crackers etc, but just grand on sandwiches with tomatoes, lettuce, crisps etc.

Indeed. When I was training, we learned through comparative tasting. Lots of things taste good until you taste the real-deal top-of-the-shop stuff. Its never quite the same with the ordinary afterwards.
