Roman Abramovitch and his new girl friend spent 79 minutes in a restaurant and the bill was £28,000. It's his money and he does what he likes with it, fine. Just wonder how those folk feel who have to work for two years for that amount. Obscene.

The great British public who vote good dancer contestants off Strictly Come Dancing in favour of a plank from Coronation Street just because he wants to go to Blackpool. Awwww, por lad.

He's not even entertaining TD, can't understand it. But he's in corrie, so all the bored housewives that watch that know him, whereas I'm guessing they aren't that interested in Lucker or Bastian!

Do we all feel guilty because how better off we are compared to the millions of people who are poorer than us? How long would some people in the world have to work to afford the £30 every other week some spend on football?

Peoples problems with others having money only ever seems to apply to those who have more than they do.

It's more complex than this though.

However ridiculous it may be to spend that amount, the money was at least spent. The restraurant will make a (massive) profit & so continue to exist, it's waiters, chefs, suppliers and administrators will earn their corn.

Those people will have money to spend and so the cycle continues.

If he just stashed the stuff away then we'd all have more reason to argue. It may not sit comfortably with us, but money spent is valuable. Economic theory tells us a coin spins about 7-fold before it disappears. Don't knock it.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I was going to add precisely this myself.

Ooops, sorry I mentioned it. I don't really care what he spends. I didn't really want to see it as a headline in a Sunday paper.

Shock, horror!

Football players are paid extraordinary amounts these days, why should rugby league players be excluded?

It's the reason I no longer read any other newspaper than the Non-League Paper. Rich man spunks money. Man voted off telly talent show. Woman in Film Walks Out Of Shop. That's headline news, apparently.

It's seriously got to the stage where you'd go out of your way if you saw the front page of a paper have the Airplane-influenced headline "Boy Trapped In Refrigerator Eats Own Foot".
